The aftermath
RESIDENT EVIL: INCARNATION

With Petco being selected as the Seer for the second time in a row, Humans had a great advantage on their side. An experienced Seer. Whether by luck or by skill, three wolves were seen by him in four nights. Using Swiftspear as a way to talk, and Isamil as a way to confirm, they managed to bring the humans to a very fast victory. The wolves but up a valiant effort to confirm their humanity but the power of the Seer won this one.

Congratulations to all!

Co-MVP goes to Petco and Swiftspear for their teamwork effort of the Seer.

Since I won't have computer access from March 4 through March 6, I can't participate in the next twg, unfortunately. Since all communication seems to happen over IRC, and all useful communication through PM's, I guess that means I won't get to see most of what's happening at all. This game was certainly fun to watch (since I died immediately). I will play in future games, though.

I was suprised Petco seered Comprox on the first day. Unlike what most people likely thought, I never had any proof about Comprox's wolfism, until he was dead. The first time I talked with petco was when he seered Quan.

You know, since you can get fairly large games, you should consider adding in other special roles, like the Masons, or possibly even the Lovers.

Care to explain these roles?

Masons are a group of humans that know who each other are, so some of the humans are able to trust each other from the very beginning. After they are told their role and the names of other Masons, they don't do anything special.

I don't think I'll play the next one, but I'd love to host at some point, and I will play again in the future. This last game just took a surprizingly large ammount out of me

Masons: All the Masons are humans. The thing is, they know who all the other Masons are. They can work together more easily, because they know there are some people they can trust. But, if someone accuses one of the Masons of being a wolf, the other Masons need to defend them, but they'll have no proof without giving away their roles.

Lovers: Two people are Lovers. If one dies, the other dies immediatly afterward from heart-break. Basiclly, its a two-for-one deal for the wolves, whether they are wolfed, or lynched.

Some others from Wikipedia:

Vigilante: The vigilante can choose to kill anyone during the day. He is on the side of the townspeople.

Serial Killer: The serial killer gets to kill a person during the night just as the wolves do. The serial killer wins only if he is the last one left.

I wouldn't mind hosting the next one, and I've already got ideas for the roles. Basically, everyone is a special role, with two sets of competeing "werewolves".

1. House Alice Hitman- Wolf
2. House Alice Hitman- Wolf
3. House Bob Hitman- Wolf
4. House Bob Hitman- Wolf
5. Guardian- Guardian
6. Psychologist- Seer
7. Examiner- Psychic
8. Neighborhood Watch- Mason
9. Neighborhood Watch- Mason
10. Neighborhood Watch- Mason
11. Orator- Vote counts double
12. Lover- If one lover dies, the other does too.
13. Lover- If one lover dies, the other does too.
14. Actor- If killed, reappears the day after the next. Used only once.
15. Super-Saint- If killed, the townspeople are so outraged that they kill the person who cast the first vote against them.
16. Thief- Stops someone’s special abilities for the night.

I think to many special roles would make it suck. Leave it as it is, maybe with a few more wolves and general tweaks.
• CondizzleCondizzle Join Date: 2004-10-05 Member: 32107Members
Here's my idea:

Humans: Vanilla Rines
Guardian: Heavy Armor
Wolves: WereGorgies
Seer: Commander???
Psychic: Scoreboard???

Basic story outline: A group of rines went into a hive full of mutated gorges.
The gorges started spitting gas everywhere. The rines promptly knived/pistoled them . When the rines got back to their ship, they went to bed. When they woke up, they found a dead rine with healspray burns. They determined that someone was a weregorge, so they decided to vote on who to kill.

I think giving everyone a special role would make it more fun without disrupting the game. That way everyone can have an effect on the gameplay.

To add on to Mantrid's post, the Thief is on the side of the werewolves. He doesn't know who the werewolves are, and they don't know who he is. He can't be detected by the seer or killed by the werewolves (there just wouldn't be a kill for that night).

As mentioned before, special games like that aren't going to be done quite yet. You guys still need to get a lot better at figuring things out with the standard roles that we have. Specialized games like all special roles will happen eventually, but for the meantime it's best to leave it as is.

It's neat, but with 3 masons the game is an easy win for the humans, since if all 3 come out then the only way they can die is via wolfstrike, since the 2 wolf teams are both too small to fake a mason group.

I would recommomend maby a Vigilante on the humans side.

Serial killer would want to leave humans for last and kill all the wolfs off, since if wolfs outnumber him at the end of the game he dies too. All in all I think it would be a increadibly malicious and fun role to play, although EXTREAMLY difficult to win.
• im_lostim_lost TWG Rule Guru Join Date: 2003-04-26 Member: 15861Members
The serial killer wouldn't want to kill wolves too fast though. They help finish off humans faster, making it easier. It's a careful balance that has to be maintained.
• MantridMantrid Lockpick Join Date: 2003-12-07 Member: 24109Members
Okay, then we ammend that to:

1. House Alice Hitman- Wolf
2. House Alice Hitman- Wolf
3. House Bob Hitman- Wolf
4. House Bob Hitman- Wolf
5. Guardian- Guardian
6. Psychologist- Seer
7. Examiner- Psychic
8. Neighborhood Watch- Mason
9. Neighborhood Watch- Mason
10. Serial Killer- Gets a kill each night, and wins only if he's the last one left.

The problem with adding a Vigilante is that you've already got 3 kills at night (if you add the Serial Killer), and a lynching during the day.
• im_lostim_lost TWG Rule Guru Join Date: 2003-04-26 Member: 15861Members
You could easily be down to 11 people at the end of the first day (if a lover dies, or if the super saint is voted off). That doesn't give anybody much time to figure out what is happening. Also, exactly what information do the psychic and seer get when there are two groups of "wolves"?

While it would certainly be interesting to watch, and would probably be short enough that I could play, I don't think Freak83 is going to let it happen.
