At approximately 4:00 pm PST we'll be releasing an update that primarily focuses on Half-Life 2: Deathmatch. This update will include the addition of the Stunstick, SLAM, and the Crowbar. It will also include a new original map made by Valve, called Steamlab.
Along with the update to the game, we'll be releasing the source code for Half-Life 2: Deathmatch in an update to the Source SDK, which should give our MOD community a wide range of functionality they can use to build their games. We're all excited to see what is built based off of it. The update to the SDK will also allow MOD developers to write their own custom shaders, which will lead to some unique visuals in their games.
Looking ahead to next week, we're still on track for the Counter-Strike update, which will include a new map called cs_compound, along with a number of smaller changes and bug fixes.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

1) the trip mine has a seperate animation when its near a wall it can be deployed on

3) the stunstick has a nice electrical effect after you swing (takes about 4-5 swings to the head to kill some one)

My thoughts exactly, Spacer.
the stunkstick is the exact same as the crowbar as much as i can see same damage same rate of attack
when your on the rebel team you have the crowbar but when your on the combine team you have the stun stick
i found out the trip mine is also used as a detpack when you are not near a wall leftclicking tosses the mine then you can rightclick to detonate the mine
/edit after some more investigation i found that the crowbar hits faster but does less damage
i personaly think i can do a much better trip mine model and a much better stunstick model the only problem is they would never be used because they would never get skinned

Then apply for a job at Valve. They're always hiring.
I really dislike how they said Steamlab is "a new original map" when it shares the same damn layout as a map they made for HLDM.
Yeah I was thinking just that.
Next time I get a chance to play on my brother's comp. This gets a download.

and dragonmech the stunstick is combine only and the crowbar is rebels only you start with it depending on what player model your using
