I am wondering if it is possible to play natural selection without having steam installed.

Or if there is a file i can download that will allow me to play natural selection without steam. I have steam but at lanparty's i want to allow the other people to play that don't own halflife but have my copy installed solly for lanparty's its version 1.0.0.5 of halflife.

    i don't think so. perhaps you can play WON on lan, but i'm not sure about that.

    either then that, i think you need steam. they also need to have half life installed on their computers.

    Copy your steam ns directory into your half-life folder and it should show as a mod under custom games (was it called custom games?).
    Isn't 1.0.0.5 a pretty old version of HL btw?

    Yep pretty old; and developing team do not give support for it... It works; but there may be graphical and gameplay glitches...

    They are all using the same copy of HL as the OP. If they tried to do this with Steam, it probably wouldn't work at all, <span style='color:red'>*NUKED.* Kindly do not discuss this line of thought on these forums again. -Talesin</span>
