I never heard of the pheonix mod though so I dont know if it will work, I take it, its a metamod plugin. have you tried it yourself?

I know about the ns_bast door, its a trange one, because the actual button origin ( seen by the bots) is not in the right place, so the bots think the button is through the wall or below the ground, which I cannot fix, it's the same with the elevator.

I am not yet, maybe when I am finished with it, or not working on it anymore, but I'm still getting the bots to play the gam properly, sure it would be good to have the source code out, but what I fear is a hundred NS bots exactly like mine (cos the source-code is totally the same or whereabouts) and they don't go anywhere
Please guys, stop asking so much of Cheeseh- give him some time. The bots are still very simple now, and that's because you cannot expect ultra smart bots in such a short while. Cheeseh is only one man, and he hasn't exactly had much time to do anything. I mean, seriously, the whole NS mod has only been released for a month. So please, give Cheeseh, time, respect and encouragement. Oh yea, and try to make sure you have caught up on what has been said in this topic before posting your questions- I have seen quite a few posts of concerns that have already been answered. I'm sure you put some hard work into it and hey, one bot is better than none, but honestly these bots at least on the Marine side are still incredibly dumb.
I played Commander for them and they still didn't build some things, got stuck in many places, and generally just sucked. The Kharaa I saw were some fairly dumb skulks and a gorge that build a couple random Offensive towers.
Btw, you will always need a human Commander because it'd be asking too much, possibly impossible, to have a bot do that. Unless he can rewrite enough of the mod code to make the Commander a player who can just walk around like a Gorge.
All in all it might be fun if it ever gets to the point where the bots have a full set of waypoints for all the maps and can better handle areas like the ladders up/down from the Marine base on Bast, use switches properly, and Gorgebots can build a useful defense/offense.
NS is an incredibly complex mods to build bots for. I'm impressed with his current progress and it's been less than a month.
Even CS bots are dumb, and that's a simple mod.
While it's possible for game designers to design incredibly complex BOTS for their games, they refrain from doing so because of the very high CPU usage. Keep that in mind as well.

Remember they will ONLY build something if they see the thing they want to build, theyre visible objects are updated every few milliseconds to about a second for bots with low skill, so the bot could just miss out seeing the object even when it looks at it, because it IS a dumb (n00b) bot becuase its skill is high.
I fink those idiots who are complaining about this bot should really stop remember ns is like a complex mod and this bot has only been released a short time i was suprised coz i thought i would av to wait agez to play with bots and its progress so far is really good for a bot which has bin out such a short time so really if u want to help play with the bots and spot bugs instead of going off about **obscenity**
