    Hey I was the first person to get a dload for the new version (And this is my first note on forums, w00t). Anyways I'm finding some issues. I'm running the game without the server patch, and I found that bots are stupid when it comes to the ready room, usually piling up into one team. Also I noticed that they like ignoring me. I had built a armory in my spawn, and turret factory at an expansion, and they ran around it like chickens with their heads cut off , completely ignoring my build orders. Anyways, not that I'm knocking youre work or anything, I sure as heck couldn't get a bot up in a week.     Cheesh,

    Not sure, but is it possible to have the marine bots actively use the ammo dispensor once it is set down? Perhaps something where if they need ammo and they're in the base, they don't constantly yell out that the need ammo but rather go to the dispensor instead? Or if you drop a ammo dispensor in another location and they are near it, they will head to that location, rather than yell out for ammo?

    Another suggestion, for the bots that play marines. If two lone marines spot one another and you haven't given them any orders, perhaps have them team up to assist one another.

    The same with the aliens, if they are skulks, perhaps have them team up in a similar fashion and attack the same targets?

    I've already considered the other things...

    Anyway haven't worked on more yet, been asleepy and my PC fans are making annoying noises now for some reason grrrrr...... I bet it's the PSU my last PSU did that and thats why I got this one, it doesnt even last a few leasly months <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    They still don't build even when I give them a build waypoint (ok, sometimes, but thats 1 in every 5 times)

    lol sorry bout all these releases, (Making bots is an addictive drug for me <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->) I fixed quite a few things (and hopefully the build bug thing) that were annoying bugs...

    >Made bots choose a team without having to wander around readyroom.
    >Fixed a bug where bots couldn't use ammo dispensers.
    >Bots will defend things now, if they defend players, they will follow them.
    >Fixed a bug where aliens will build too many of one structure.
    >Fixed a bug where bots wont try to build structures when they are only partially built.
    >Marine bots try to find the hives, Alien bots try to find marine command centers.

    One more question or request.. I know its been suggested already, but perhaps getting the aliens to try and capture all the hives? Not sure how hard that would be.

    Well me and my pal played as marines, and found 2 hives...     Ok I did some testing with the bot and this is what I found out:

    1) Bots still seem to build a bit too many of those darned sensory chambers, is there any way to put a limit on sensory and movement chambers so the bots won't build too many?
    But it's still alot better, they don't spam the place with them and build more offence chambers but it's seems there's a 50%/50% chance building sensory or offence chambers.

    2) Still more work need to be done with the marine bot waypointing, although it's ALOT better now they still seem to have minor problems sometimes.

    3) None of the bots really used an ammo dispencer, I don't know what could be causing this, but... uhm, none of the bots did.

    4) If a bot runs out of ammunition with his primary and secondary he pulls out his knife and starts screaming for ammo.
    Although if you give him ammo he will keep his knife out and continue screaming for ammo seeing as he won't pick it up.

    5) I was playing against 9 alien bots and about 6 of them were in primary hive through the whole game while just a couple acctually went outside the hive to expand, this needs a fix.
    And then while you're at it try to make them go together when they first leave.


    Ok this was about what I saw that needs a fix for this version on, happy botting! (or whatver you can call it)

    Yeah two things I think would help are if one bot is building something, any other nearby bots (that can get there) try to come and help build. And plus they just need to build more in general. But other than that good work!!!

    I tested the bot some hours on the map "ns_eclipse". First I thought this bot needs some more development, because the marine bots don't build the structures I placed in the rooms. After playing some time and some hard work to get the bots in corners they never visit by themselbves it was better and they build the structures very quick.

    My first conclusion is there is a really need to be able to make some handcrafted waypoints for each map. OK for "ns_eclipse" I have now some waypoints which seem to be useable, but there are still problems the bots try to jump at the wrong places, fell down and can not get out of this place by themselves. Maybe it is possible to add waypoints where the bots are not allowed to jump.

    My second conclusion is bots have to follow orders at highest priority. Everytime when they are fighting they ignore commands to go to a waypoint or build a structure. This caused problems because sometimes they weren't be able to hit the enemies (and the enemies couldn't hit my marines) from a specific position. But they tried to kill the enemies all the time ignboring my commands. I had to jump off the command center and kill the enemies by myself from a different position to "free" the soldiers.

    I think to follow commands at the highest priority is the most important thing. If you think the time is right please add the possibility to make predefined waypoints, but they should always be able to learn, with information like "button", "don't jump here", "ladder", "don't shoot from here find another place", etc.

    Maybe it is a good idea to look at the Sturmbot for DoD. It tries to learn from his mistakes.

    Eclipse is my fav level in this mod, and its also the first map I played
    with these bots on. Another thing.

    But I noticed a bug in that version with the alien bots not building hives <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> I fixced it and a few more things (like evolving to fade/lerk etc) but I haven't released it yet <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    also with the version im working on a lot of alien bots seem to go straight for the enemy command centre and destroy it where the marine bots dont have a clue whats goin on! Although once all the marines died, there were no player spawns left and the game was still playing, i.e. didnt reset to a new round

    The alien bots love being gorges, income is super slow... Also they refuse to evolve into higher level classes.
    Oh, and how come they can do INCREDIBLE damage to an onos with their LMGs? I've never taken such a beating playing with humans....
    And they won't build @ waypoints or move to them either <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> Maybe this new patch have fixed it though.

    The bots should really stick to their orders (there was a bug in a previous version I made though which made them not follow anything...)     cheeseh i'm very impressed, i love bots, and although i don't know how to code them (yet s:]) i have bots for almsot every mod on my HD. Your bot is progressign nicely , and for a mod that's been released for 10 days you did some amazing work, hope you keep working on it s:)
