1. ive drawed a thick line for the branch , and copy-pasted my favourite leave in layers on top of it ..some rescaling, mirroring. ive used the burn tool to create some shadows to make it look nice
2. merged down but left the background layer intact ,CTRL- Layerclick to select the leaves, ->invert selection -> fill black . this makes only the white around the leaves black

I know basic Japanese Script (I'm assuming this is Kanji?)... so let me give this a shot
日本語 = Japanese
語 = Language
の母国 = Native Country
So, assuming the rest from context...
日本語はわたしの母国語です = Japanese is my native language
Am I right? If so... damn! Can you teach me? (I'm trying to learn Romanji and Kanji... but it's SO damn hard for me to do without someone that can speak it... since I can't get the enunceation right 0o' )

get in line, you're after me
ok, i try to explain that..uhm.. i just will give a very simple example how i did the leaves in that pic with way less effort ... i will even show to make a simple transmap ..uhm..ok Transmapped strands... many strands of lowpoly structures,
with applied textures and ....transmaps
1. lets scan some nice leaves uhm..like that
<img src='http://yanai.blackmage.org/3d/transmapping/wip/Untitled-1.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
2.use the one you like most... and save it as texture.jpg
<img src='http://yanai.blackmage.org/3d/transmapping/wip/Untitled-2.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
3. cut it out and select the remainings with ctrl - click on layer
<img src='http://yanai.blackmage.org/3d/transmapping/wip/Untitled-3.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
4. paint it all black, this will get the transmap.all the black spaces will be
calculated transparent ...save it as transmap.jpg
<img src='http://yanai.blackmage.org/3d/transmapping/wip/Untitled-4.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
5. create a doublesided plane in cinema
<img src='http://yanai.blackmage.org/3d/transmapping/wip/Untitled-5.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
6. create a new material, and put into the colorchanel the texture
<img src='http://yanai.blackmage.org/3d/transmapping/wip/Untitled-6.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
7. pick the alphachannel for the transmap, and load transmap.jpg into it
<img src='http://yanai.blackmage.org/3d/transmapping/wip/Untitled-7.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
8. apply the material to the plane.. zap.. a very lowpoly leave..
<img src='http://yanai.blackmage.org/3d/transmapping/wip/Untitled-8.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
ok...simple transmapping.. now the way ive used..the same techniqe
1. ive drawed a thick line for the branch , and copy-pasted my favourite leave
in layers on top of it ..some rescaling, mirroring. ive used the burn tool to
create some shadows to make it look nice
<img src='http://yanai.blackmage.org/3d/transmapping/wip/Untitled-11.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
2. merged down but left the background layer intact ,CTRL- Layerclick to select the leaves, ->invert selection -> fill black . this makes only the white around the leaves black
<img src='http://yanai.blackmage.org/3d/transmapping/wip/Untitled-12.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
3. ive disabled the leaves to get this result ,a nice transmap..
<img src='http://yanai.blackmage.org/3d/transmapping/wip/Untitled-13.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
4.back to cinema.. ive created a plane, and bent it a bit
<img src='http://yanai.blackmage.org/3d/transmapping/wip/Untitled-14.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
5.applied the material (texture + transmap) to it
<img src='http://yanai.blackmage.org/3d/transmapping/wip/Untitled-15.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
6. copy pasted the plane 2 times, and changed their locations a bit
<img src='http://yanai.blackmage.org/3d/transmapping/wip/Untitled-16.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
7. render... ok..very simple example , but i think you get a idea how i did it
<img src='http://yanai.blackmage.org/3d/transmapping/wip/Untitled-17.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
modelling that much leaves with single parts for every leave would take way longer to render
A kinda valid suggestion I feel
(^_^; )
....... because....

you need to be able to display <a href='http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shift_JIS' target='_blank'>Shift_JIS</a> encoded charachters
try <a href='http://www.lexikan.com/mincho.htm' target='_blank'>this</a> page
