An old SW RTS game! *_*
Has anyone here played Star Wars: Rebellion? I was telling a friend of mine about the new Star Wars that will come out and he told me about this old RTS game. It's by far the most difficult RTS game I've ever played.

You either pick the Empire or the Rebellion. You win by destroying your enemies HQ AND capture their key players. For the Empire they must destroy Cloud City (which can move anywhere - INSTANTLY!!! ) and capture Luke and Leia. If you're the Rebels you have to attack Corrousant (sp?) and either capture or kill Darth Vader and the Emperor. You have a lot of other characters in the game too that can speed up research. Reserach like ships and troops and stuff.

It is a very hard game to win against the computer - on EASY! Geez it's tough. THere are so many star systems that micromanaging one is hard enough - but add in 3 or 4 and it's just crazy. There are maintence points and refinery pionts too - its like resources but they dont trickle in - instead you get like 20 points, then when you build a ship, that 20 is gone and if that ship dies, then the 20 is back. If you blockcade a planet (have your starships over it) then all of that planets maintence goes away and if you have too many units and not enough maintence then random things start blowing up.

This one time I had the Death Star and I went around blowing up planets left and right, and that made me very unpopular, and uprisings took place on my planets. So I brought my death star over to anyone who rebelled against me (even if I still owned the planet) and I showed them the ture power of the empire!

BOOOOOOM! Planet gone. I killed like 9 planets and I lost every other one becuase they thought I wasn't cool or something. I then lost all of my maintence points and I lost my Death Star

Does anyone else have this game!?

    aye i have it.
it goes my the name supremacy in enland some licenscing thing meant it had to be renamed.

Its a good game and i still play it occasionally however, ive made a foll proof way of winning against the computer on any difficulty.

1)secure your home system. On your home planet max it out with construction yards apart from 2 shield generators. On the other big planets in ur system (should be about 2) do the same but with shipyards and training facilities.
2)before and as this is going on get your lesser used characters to max out ur popularity on the systems u already control. This is very important.
3)expore one unknown star system and settle 1 troop on it to own it.
4)Have the computer manage resources this should max them out on your other 6-7 systems in your home system as wel las your unknown system and the other systems u control.
4)build up a fleet not a big one but just enough to retake planets. atm you want to flee space battles your just interested in retaking planets. The computer should by now be attacking your planets and taking control of them. Go back and kill their garrisons only (attack military targets) and watch every other system in the sector favor you a lot. repeat and continue to build up your fleet.
    5)You win.

Personally, what I did was send out Y-wing probes to the Outer Rim, and find the biggest planet, then max out advanced construction yards. This way, the opposing faction never stood a realistic chance of finding them, and thus you don't need to waste space building defences. I did the same with training facilities but kept construction yards to the main systems.

Yeah choosing a remote system for your base was great unforutnaely all the middle systems had setup resources already. One way to slow the opposition down if you are going to do that is have a massive fleet that can do orbital bombardment and take out everything the opposition own. But leave them the planet.

This will mean they tech up slower

I borrowed a friends version at Uni and haven`t played it in ages, really want to get a copy.

My brother was king as this game. He was disappointed that there was no harder setting than hard, because he found it rediculously easy on that skill level. This is because he would play the game 1 day at a time, always putting it on slowest till he had done everything, then putting it on fast till an alert came up, then putting it on slowest. He would secure many of the core worlds simply by inciting rebellion with special forces or heros on an enemy planet. When it had revolted, he would use spec force to destroy infantry units until the entire planet was turned over to him. This would cause the political alignment of all the other planets to shift towards him dramatically.

Get every character that can working full time on recruitment of more heroes, you can never have enough of those. Tech like crazy, explore the outer rim to ensure you find places that can support huge shipyard facilities, troop facilities etc. Tech like mad, then get a massive fleet and laugh you way around the galaxy. Never fails.

It's a really fun game. Takes lots of practices to be able to win. I find that training up my heroes and letting the droids handle resources is a good idea when you're just starting out. Eventually it'll get so that Luke, Han, Chewie, Orrimaarko, and Page can go on any mission you send them on and do it perfectly.

Whats this mean? Does the computer build mines and refineries for you?

I had it on my computer a month ago and had no clue what to do so I didn't play it much.

Good game. I have it somewhere at home but I found it to be very difficult to win.

Yeah C-3PO makes the mines and refineries for you. He does a pretty good job IMHO.

Yeah, I just turned this option on and it was fricken awesome. No more worrying about that -- just concentrating on your army.
