Leap Attack And Bite

<div class="IPBDescription">How to do it...</div> Hey there all you Skulks. Here's a tip that'll make that Leap Attack actually useful. When I played Counter Strike I used bind scripts to do a lot of things. Jump-Duck, Fire-Duck, AWP-Deagle-AWP stuff. Here's a basic bind script that can bind a leap attack to Mouse2, or any key you wish. Put these commands in your half-life/ns/config.cfg file.

bind "MOUSE2" "slot3;wait;+attack;wait;-attack;wait;slot1"
hud_fastswitch "1"

In order, this will select Slot3 (Leap), then attack, then switch back to Slot1 (Bite). So, you can hit the Mouse2 once to attack, then hit Mouse1 to start biting either in the air or when you land. Devastating attack! I actually heard my friend laugh out loud when he Leap+Bite 3 marines in a row. He was literally laughing maniacally(sp)! The fastswitch is needed for this script to work as it will immediately switch to whatever weapon you pressed.

The second great thing about this is that you can now use Leap for basic movement and you don't have to cycle weapons to go back to Bite. I Leap all OVER the place now! It is now much easier to get past marines and SGs.

The final benefit for this is that with more wait commands, this bind will work for Gorges, Lerks, and Fades. Just change the Slot3 to whatever ability you want to switch to. (Like Blink for example.)

The ONLY problem I've been having with this script is that sometimes I die in mid leap. I don't know why as my screen just slowly fades black. No one killed me and all it says in the console is that I died. So, if anyone uses this script and finds a solution to the wierd death bug, let me know. Hope this bind helps you Skulks out. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Yeah, i used a 'instant slot3' bind as well, until i found out that the devs set some code up to prevent the use of fastbinds like this one. The prevention is in there for balancing reasons, so even though i never died from it, i dont use it anymore.
