Server Side Mods In Combat

<div class="IPBDescription">Their annoying proliferation</div> Not sure about stateside, but I can't seem to find a server in Europe without silly mods that make combat games last an hour. #yo|clan is in my favourites, along with a couple of others. are there any others that you guys can recommend? How can I filter out these servers?

then there's the dutch xs4all servers [1 co/1ns] but they're usually empty these days (darkling come back i miss you! LOL)
and the danish surftown servers also run unmodified ns and combart afaik, they have 10 servers in total <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

stateside I can think of 3 heavily modded co servers off the top of my head, but thats about it. The rest are pretty vanilla. Any server side mod created to make the game more "fun" is basicly freaking stupid. I only find it annoying, bugged, or a combination of both. Some are even horrible unbalanced. While others make you download a huge bunch of crap, just to hear some stupid sounds triggered by the chat, just when you've found a good server with a decent amount of players and good ping.

And when it's not a server mod, it's mp_blockscripts <_<

if you don't like servers with mods then dont' play on them. Server owners can do whatever they want on their servers, and nobody will care what you think unless you have a suggestion for improving their mods. whining about it here is meaningless. There are plently of empty vanila servers for you to play on

I never said I played on them <_< It's just annoying to find out that the servers filled with mods after you picked it out because it had a nice ping and decent amount of players. As soon as I find it out's running crap like that, I leave and look for another and better server. My suggestion would be to announce the fact that it's filled with crappy mods in the server name. Like a tag basicly, "[Filled with crappy mods]".

One man's meat is another man's poison. Simply because you dislike it doesn't make it crappy - seems to be quite a demand out there for a lot of these "extras".

Exactly. You know, it's nice to see you all dividing your world up into ever-so smaller chunks of 'us' against (naturally wholly foolish, if not downright wrong) 'thems', but it starts to be a little tiring. Respect the other man's style, or he might just stop respecting yours.
