Best Way To Texture Weapons?

<div class="IPBDescription">Is It Always This Time Consuming?</div> I'm currently working on an "Ithaca" shotgun
for no particualr mod or purpose (just to help
learn my way around XSI I guess) and was
wondering if anyone can help me with texturing.

Here's the model so far:

But as you can see my texturing has gone
alittle "off" on the pump-grip thingy and on
the top of the model itself.

This is the image i'm using as a reference to
the gun layout as well as for the texture.

Any help would be great as i'm struggling to find
any tutorials any helpful tutorials. (Everyone seems
to enjoy texturing boxes!)

Enimity is great, but I think he has a bit too much contrast on his metal, wood is 10/10
