Hi, I've been looking myself for couple of months and nothing so I post here, don't delete this since im a big fan of Ns,
so, this is my question: I want to play Ns but I don't have a copy of hl, the publisher don't sell original hl any more so I can't buy it and play Ns, if I will buy an old one it wont help anyway because cd-keys of hl cant register Steam account anymore, I have in my possession a copy of Condition zero (with a steam account) but it doesn't allow me to play Ns,
what should I do\buy in order to play ns..?

Yes. Buy HL2, register it on steam and then right click Half-Life and install. Once installed, launch the hazard course once to get the appropriate files sorted out and then install Beta 5 into your \half-life directory.

only the Silver and gold pakages will get you HL1 also
buying it via retail will get you squat, same with bronze.
tbh i bought CZ just to play ns then found out it not working...

Buying <span style='color:silver'>Silver</span> or <span style='color:gold'>Gold</span> <span style='color:red'>WILL GET</span> you valves back catalog = HL1, TFC, CS, CZ, ETC
bronze does not come with the back catalouge.
Retail HL2 (i..e buying a hard-copy in the shops) does <b>not</b> get you HL1.
The <b>only</b> way you can get HL1 from Hl2 is to buy Silver <b>or</b> Gold from www.steampowered.com

Bah. It's easier to just buy HL2 Silver over Steam anyway. See? Steam makes things easier.

and still charge the same as they would with a box and manual and cd... here, atleast, you can buy HL2 bronze, AND the back catalogue in the shops for cheaper than silver over steam... Bronze DOES NOT include the Back Catelouge. You already own HL1 I assume, so that's how you got it.

Its not valves fault, its there contract with VU. They <b>have</b> to charge equal prices.
When there contract is up though (which i think is when DOD:S comes out) you can probably expect to see lower prices.
