Bugs I Have Found

<div class="IPBDescription">post if you find any</div> This is not a post to put down NS. I love the game, I use to be a hardcore CS fan till I heard about this. Hehehehe, but I just wanted to put down somethings I found. And maybe someone I can tell me I am wrong or that they found it to.
Here they are:
1) Everyone knows about the lag thing
2) As well as the Resources
3) Marines don't die when crouched in vents. This maybe just me but I watched a guy sit in one for like 3 minutes and every melee then went in never came out. Even when the guy was reloading, it took a lerk with Spike to take him out.
4) The armor for both Marines and Alien does not update on its own. I thought it was, if it isn't suppose to my mistake. But it is just kinda annoying to spend all those resources and not even have more armor. I know the defense is there, but it gets taken out really quickly.
5) Sometimes as commander I will be trying to click for waypoints and it won't make them. Yet in another server I can.
And that be all folks. Very impressed with NS, and hope to see it achive great things. Cya yall in the server.

the CC opens when attacked, as odd as that is, but the comm still is in there, he did NOT log out.
And then you can't blink out... because your energy won't recharge. That's annoying.

i hit him with no less than 15 bites from behind and he never died.... it was absurd and frustrating hehe.

In this hive you can atack trough the ground, wich means, at the high entrance there is a lttle way, when there are marine buldings there, you can go under them as a skulk and attack trough the ground (my english get worse and worse, excuse)
Aliens: RMB menu sometimes doesn't display titles of buttons, sometimes stays open and other weird things. I'd put it down to lag or something, but the marine menu runs without a hitch at all. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
1) If you’re pointed just a little bit down, the attack fails, no Skulks are created and the energy is wasted. Not really a bug (it’s similar to the Fade blink “attack” problem) but it would be a hell of a lot more useful to have some cross hairs just so the player knows when he/she is pointed above the horizon. Given how low to the ground a Gorge is, it’s hard to tell if you’re pointing high enough.
2) You can’t create Skulks/use this attack if you’re on any kind of a sloped surface. You just expend the energy and get nothing in return.
3) Created Skulks can not go up or down an inclined surface (like a ramp). No matter how short or shallow the ramp is, the Skulk will stop at the edge and just wander around a little. Doesn’t make much sense that these creatures can’t walk down a ramp. I’ve also tested this with stairs and the same thing happens. The Skulk goes to the edge and just stops like there’s a wall there, even if attacked.
Now, this is a pretty rare attack but I have to paint this picture for you all to describe what I saw when I first used it. I was running down a hallway when I heard a marine approaching. I quickly stopped and my cloaking kicked in just before a marine, in heavy armor with a HMG turned the corner. Knowing that my little spit attack wouldn’t do anything to him, I figured I’d try this new attack.
I let the marine walk past me and a little way down the hall before I opened up with the Skulks. The result left me sitting at my computer in awe. The three Skulks ran down the hallway and began a coordinated attack on the marine. One began to bite at his legs, a second was leap attacking him and the third (!) was hanging off the marine’s arm. The sight of this Skulk being swung wildly by the arm of the marine as he tried to bring the HMG to bear was just so much eye candy.
I just sat there for a few seconds and watched as these Skulks mauled this one marine with all of his armor and weapons. When I realized that the first three wouldn’t do, I fired off another pack of Skulks and just watched the show. If any of you think that the Gorge is a little wimp, you’re sorely mistaken. My single Gorge (with about 7 expendable and replaceable Skulks) took out a marine in heavy armor with a HMG.
I still blame the lag for this one because this has happened to me several times as marines too.
Also, i thought the skulk models were supposed to rotate when wall climbing (not the view, which is fine with me). It doesn't make the mos any less fun, but it would definately be cooler.
So yeah, not a fan of getting stuck and ~kill.
with weapons like the lerk's needles and the fade's acid rocket and bile bomb, they end up hitting the corner and blowing up on me even with a clear line of site.
same goes trying to shoot over something.
50/250 ammo in weapon, use armory to refil weapon, keep refilling for about 5 seconds, fire off 50 shots. When you reload the gun should still say 50/250. Also if you over refill the gun and reload it with some ammo left the left over ammo adds to the max on some occasions and only in part. For example I ended up with 50/257. By refilling again, firing some shots and reloading I was able to get 50/264. I imagine I could keep on going. I only noticed this last night so I don't know if its something with the map (eclipse), a bug, or something with the server (DNAGames)
Will test it some more.
You can blink into any wall, it'd seem. Perhaps it's actually the floor, or a corner, but you're still stuck. Evolving in a tight area can also get you stuck. I understand that blink isn't perfect yet, but you shouldn't be able to evolve if the new form is going to end up embedded in the landscape.
Repeated dry firing is sort of glitchy; the motion and sound don't synch, and the animation jerks. And it's been said, but alien chamber animations (very obvious with resource chamber) don't loop properly, or something. Not big issues, but still.
You're able to recycle the resource tower before the match starts (as in no Kharaa).
Also with recycling, you can't seem to do it on an unbuilt (though dropped) structure. Intentional?
A friend says that his webbed marine took no fall damage - he heard the pain sound, but his health wasn't affected. I haven't had a chance to try it myself. [This doesn't actually happen. Surprise.]
Stacking structures and players is a problem. Even though I've saved Gorges by playing stepstool to let them clear three foot pits, people shouldn't be able to play Lerk Lift or block elevators. I'm sure it's unintentional, but there's many exploits here.
I apologize for the lack of details in this next part, but I swear that the Onos doesn't always roar when using primal scream, though the effect is normal. It could be due to moving - does the sound play if you're in motion when you activate it? Maybe if you're on an incline? There could be other factors, or maybe the whole thing is just my imagination. It's really hard to test stuff in this game, as single-player LAN doesn't go anywhere. [DUR I AM SMART. I couldn't recreate this, so I assume I'm in error.]
I'm unsure if these next two are bugs or features, but a welder does insane amounts of damage to alien structures. Also, jet packs go ridiculously fast when you press against a ceiling (like in vents). I've heard that this may be due to a known HL problem? I'd be surprised if both weren't intentional, but I might as well put them down.
And could this topic, or a similar one, be stickied?

the blinking icons on the right of the screen don't match up with the hive icons.
They don't have to. They're there because you still have those chambers, and therefore the upgrade is still available, regardless of how many hives you have.
(1) In one game, as aliens, I had cloak, and our last hive was being attack, I hid somewhere and stayed cloaked, but eventually all the sensor chambers were destroyed. I stayed cloaked, as long as I didn't move. Needless to say it took the Marines forever to find me.
(2) In ns_hera, near the Marine base, upgrading to a Fade there almost always results in getting stuck, and non-energy regain.
(3) As commander, I can't use my voice comm. I seem to be the only one affected by this.
(4) Is the advanced armory supposed to never have life shown? It's hard to tell if it needs repairs or not because it always has empty life. Could be just me.
(5) Sometimes as a Skulk, and especially in ns_hera, when I'm attacking the CC, no marines can hit me with their guns, they usually have to try to knife me. Because of this, aliens almost always win in ns_hera.
(6) A lot of Commander problems, sometimes when using the cursor keys to move around it stops a lot. Sometimes it's difficult to place stuff on the ground, even though you know you can, and usually can once you move the screen a little bit, you can put the object in the same place you tried to put it on. Sometimes ammo and health just won't be placed, even though you hear the sound for it, it doesn't appear. A few other item placement bugs.
(7) Sometimes when building turrets as a marine, it almost gets finished, and you can't build it anymore. Sometimes you can from a different angle, but it gets frustrating.
(8) When upgrading the turret factory, on rare occasions, it would upgrade all the way, then just stop working, you can't build advanced OR normal turrets and you have to try again. This mostly happens in ns_hera.
(9) Not sure if this is a feature, but you don't have to reload at all if you're next to an armory, it automatically puts ammo inside your current clip. I've exploited this many times and it's saved me a few times, especially with grenade launchers, it's an interesting strategy.
(10) Sometimes as a marine, if an offense chamber hits you, sometimes it doesn't do damage. It's hard to exploit this because it's really random, but I'm guessing it's a bug.
Plus a lot of the other things you people already listed. The game for the most part is bug free, just the commander interface and the alien evolving issues seem to be the worst.
- I'm not to sure exactly how this happens, but if I press a certain movement key and stop or something close to like that my screen just continues to move in that direction till it hits the end of the map. I'm not pressing anything!
- ns_tanith. For some reason in one game I was unable to click at ALL in the marine spawn area.
- If you select an item to place on the map, cancel it with right click, then left click again, it will place the item... but you've cancelled that order?
- Also I use Mouse2 as my jump. um... I'm probably going to have to use a seperate commander cfg. It doesn't go to last event.... figures :/
Server:
- I enter a rcon password. rcon works from remote program in IRC. But when anyone goes to the server and tries to use the rcon it gives some weird 'could not attain spoofed/ip something something' I'll have to relook at that. <-- probably post this in server ops forum. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
Gorge:
- If you spit a babbler STRAIGHT up in the air, it comes back down and bites you <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> I'm not exactly sure if babblers are supposed to hurt you or not.
Thats about all I can remember right now. Oh and if you have too many mines they become invisable lol. GL trying to sneak around a team of marines thats primary goal is mines mines mines!

These were:
Sometimes the menu becomes totally displaced and all the options are displayed in the top (don't remember which side) corner and becomes unusable.
Something similar happens in commander mode, where the same thing happens to the building options.
I havn't seen this with my own eyes, but some of my friends have encountered it while playing. We had a great commander... until this bug showed and the guy couldn't command anymore for the rest of the game...

Ah, I also remember one time, when the game ended and everyone went back to the readyroom. But then, when we were supposed to start a new round, the last round didn't reset! All buildings/webs/stuff was still there...
Also, spectators can't see what other spectators say, but the people in the readyroom can see what the spectators are saying... is this intentional, or a bug?

Also, music only plays sometimes... Or more precise, music rarely plays... (Yes, I have "enable music" selected. I've even increased the music volume.)

The WORST bug I've seen is when an alien can walk into the CC.
Marines cant hurt it with anything except explosives. 4 HMG toting marines eptied two clips each into a fade crouching on the CC. Fix this bug PLEASE.
