Hot Euro action going down tonight
Knife will be playing against Evolve or Die in the CB Opencup finals later tonight (Saturday) at 22:00 CET (16:00 EST). I'll shove the HLTV IP in this post when I get it, but it's probably easier to just join #knife or #eod on irc.quakenet.org to get it.

More information here.

Should be a good match.

Too bad this cup ends in a finale between like the two only clans that didn't fold/leave. Should be a good match anyway, but kind of a waste for a cup that used to be good and followed. May someone step in to take the admin spot and revive it...

It may seem a bit drained, but both teams currently in the finals defeated all the favourites to reach finals, so to claim that it's a bad end to a good cup is a fairly uninformed assumption, to say the least.

There's no denying that the Opencup hasn't not exactly been what everyone was hoping for, though.

Sad isn't really the word to use here. Honestly, I don't think a word exists that can describe how bad those alien rounds were.

What I think is funny is how in the hltv for exi vs. terror, fana and cheez opined that mustang and remics needed to be more aggressive. Now, all props to the knife fades - you hit your blinks and swipes like magic. But there is a reason you die alot, and that reason is that you are incredibly aggressive. You guys were constantly taking huge risks for minor gains with no backup.

My opinion, of course, but..

Fana is hardly an aggressive fade. Unlucky/silly sometimes? Yes, but who isn't? Aggressive? no.

EDIT: Kavasa does speak some truth though about the comments people make on peoples fading. Often the player who doesn't fade and dies stupidly is the first to criticise those who are more sensible with their play style. Then again, i always think of HLTV as pantomime. It's all good and proper fun and laughing and commenting on funny deaths, particulary those of fades is the most enjoyable part.

Amazing how people misread what I said. I swear there is an intelligence barrier blocking intelligent thought on HLTVs, especially American ones.

cheeZ said: remiCs should be more aggressive.

By that I'm pretty sure that he ment that they needed to do something, anything, because the game was badly tilting towards them (Terror) losing, which there is definitely some truth to.

My responce was: No, he can't be more aggressive because that'll get him killed. (although I probably worded it a bit differently, which may have given some people the wrong impression).

At this point, some absolute Einsteinian thinker blurted out OMG FANA YOURE SAYING HE SHOULD BE MORE AGGRESSIVE LOL 14 FADES DUDER, and suddenly the entire HLTV thinks that's what I said. Absolutely incredible.

Thoughts on Fading:

When marines are running around with HMGs, the ONLY time a Fade should EVER go in, is when they are either:
A: Distracted.
B: Reloading.
C: Low on health due to spores and whatnot.
D: There is no other way to get out alive or win the game.

When they have shotguns and LMGs, you can usually be a little more aggressive, and lone marines shouldn't be much of a problem.

Although I do at times neglect to follow these rules due to sillyness and whatnot, the EoD match was a special case as once my brain malfunctioned, there was no stopping it. But sure, if you want to base your opinion of my Fading on that one match, and ignore the at least 10 other hltv demos there are on Amped for example, feel free. Ignorance is bliss, as they say.

EDIT: typos.

What about the time you got egg killed?
Soloed by n44b with a lmg?
Telefragged?
Weren't you blown up by mines once too?

In my defence I had hud_saytext set to 0 and made that post off reports made in ventrilo from other members of my clan.

That said, I find your proposition that the stupid-inducing effect of American HLTVs is somehow greater than euro ones to be a little suspect. jajaja and all that.

i saw the demo when he parasited the marine and i can assure you that it wasnt comm's fault because he was full hp and killed him in just 1 or 2 seconds.

If he killed him in just 1-2 seconds and the rine was at full health than I can only assume he didn't only use parasite to kill him.
