<div class="IPBDescription">Where are they?</div> I really miss hearing marines scream out really loud when getting killed. I was picturing the burnsounds from Stronghold. I mean, if you have osmething biting your arm or leg off you'd scream pretty bad, I think <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

I do enjoy some of the death sounds as they add to ambience, but their absence hasn't really bothered me too much.

there might be some hidden reason for it not being in though.
By the way, do anyone hear any different sounds when you actually bite a marine and when you dont... like a different more chrunchy/sludgy sound. someone said they do but i sure dont. But id like to.. Maby my Computer is screwing with me??
It would be great ambience to be going down that dark tunnel into maintence only to suddenly here a few bursts of gun fire then a scream from up ahead.
Do you notice the difference in biting the air and biting a marine structure? If you do, you should notice the difference in air and marine too.
Well I belive that the reason of the nonexistant deathsounds are the same as the originaly nonexistant marine blood. But it would add to the gaming experience if there where some screams of agony and pain.
The hit sound is abit to weak, it should be easier to hear so that those without those supersoundcards (that would be me) could hear them easy.
But there is a problem. It is not the marine who screams, it is the alien.
What I mean is that there isnt a marine sound for dying, but there is an alien sound for KILLING. If you change the alien sound for killing for a scream, every time the alien kills something, he will scream. The problem is that if the alien kills an sentry or tf, he will also scream <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
For fun, I like to think that the scream is not from the destroyed sentry, but from the angry commander <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
I made the sound. I just screamed in pain over the mic. Then I just changed the name of it to the aliens sound for killing. I dont remember now what sound it is, but it is an alien sound, and every diferent alien have a diferent sound for killing, so you should rename everyone of them.

Yes, there is.
In C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\ns\sound\weapons there are all the sounds used by weapons. For aliens, weapons count as bite, claws, charge, that kind of thing.
If you look at the archives names, you will see the following:
bite
bite2
bitehit1
bitehit2
bitekill
These sounds are used in diferent times. Bite and bite 2 are used when you "shoot" (bite) the air, doing no damage. Bitehit1 and 2 are used when you hit something, maybe a marine, a wall or a sentry. Bitekill is used when you "kill" something, that could be a marine, a sentry or an armory.
So, if you change the bitekill sound to a scream, everytime a skulk "kills" something, it will play the sound. But it is not the marine or the building that screams, it is the skulk. That is a problem when a skulk kills a sentry and you hear a scream. I like to think that it is the commander screaming in anger <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
So, if you REALLY WANT a death scream, do what I did. Just choose your favorite scream and change it for the bitekill sounds. If you want to hear screams everytime something is killed, change the following files too:
chargekill
clawskill
leapkill
swipekill
Note: Be sure to back up all your files in case you need them back.
