<div class="IPBDescription">why does it bother me so?</div> So this started as a curiosity for me and it has turned into a mission. What map was it back in 1.04 that had these characteristics?
Marine Start: Long skinny room, the com chair and half of the room was elevated and there were windows on the back wall. If you went out to the Right you’d find yourself in a room. In that room the far half was elevated, the elevated walkway had railings and Marines needed to ride an elevator to get up to that level – which was right next to one of the hives. A gorge could lame up and even break the elevator and cripple the marines as the aliens could just jump over the railing.
If you went out to the Left – you’d walk down one or two decently sized hallways and come to a tallllllllllll ladder that lead you to the top portion of a hive. Said hive has a walkway from that ladder, curving around the wall, along the hive, around another corner where an RT is. Below the hive was a square ‘pool’. On the wall opposite the walkway in the hive is a vent that takes you directly to the middle hive. Below and to the right of said vent is a door. If you go out that door there is a catwalk above you that you need to climb a short ladder to get up onto. The other side of the catwalk has the entrance to the middle hive iirc.
Gah! I don’t even think I’d know the name if someone told me and I don’t know why I’m on such a mission to figure this out…. But it’s been bugging meh <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Hive you end up at going to the left (res node is directly behind me):

Room to the right with an elevator which appears jammable, upper level leads to upper level of a hive:

so next question.... where'd it go PB? <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
EDIT aww. well the description if for hera certainly left out a few travelling parts.
I think that with a little modification that it could be official material though. Just make it a lil bigger somehow without ruining the small map atmosphere <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Anyway... yes, the original was small, it was made originally to answer the question of how smaller maps would play in NS - remember, this was pre Combat.
I did double the size of the map not tooooo long after, which is where the Big Round Lift came from.
