Would Releasing Random Rooms And Hallways Work?

<div class="IPBDescription">?</div> Just an idea, i have some basic mapping skills, i tried my hand at creating a map, and finished the RR when i got bored and reformatted.

Would it be...smart for me to just make random hallways and rooms and release em, allowing people to use em in there maps? <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I see nothing wrong with that. Just remember, if they do use your stuff and release a map, they might not credit you for it. Some newbs like working with real examples, though, and it can be a great way to learn.

    It would be a healthy way of learning from examples, but I kinda doubt any mapper with good experience would want to take a chunk someone else created and putting it in their map, that is unless they specifically asked for it.

    Maybe not, but it could inspire them.

    This wouldn't work because of texture memory limit.

    When you make a map, you're only allowed a certain amount of textures, so if someone tried making a map using lots of little maps, chances are they would all use many different texture sets and would therefore be way over the limit.

    just put 1 metal texture on em and let the person re-texture em <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    crap.

    I was working on a hallway that was simply awsome.

    I think i will continue anyway. <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I've found hallways from foreign sources extremely hard to implement into personal maps. Most often you have to clip whole chunks of it just to get it to fit. It's just not smart.
