Static Using Voice Com

<div class="IPBDescription">###</div> Everytime I use my mic I am told its very poor and full of static. Its a good mic with a sblive card newest drivers. I've run that hlvoice.exe and still it is very poor. Ideas? thanx alot.

if its not a headset, its no good ;) Headsets rock for voice comm.

Also if you are using the latest drivers with the SB Live you may want to disable EAX in half-life, i found that was causing mega problems for me.

Go into the creative mixer and make sure the recording device is set to the microphone, w/ the volume cranked all the way up. Also make sure that the bars on the menu in multiplayer->Customize inside of half-life are all the way to the right (the transmit and recieve bars)

I don't know about headsets being the only way to go, I use one that clips around the ear, works great, people understand me rather easily.

I use the creative desktop mic that came with my SB Live! X-Gamer, and it works perfectly...
