After the last post and helping get <a href='http://www.waypoint-world.com' target='_blank'>http://www.waypoint-world.com</a> off the ground, I have sorta gained interest in the site again!

Managed to totally rebuild the site over the past few weeks and added perhaps another hundred or more I had sat on my hard disk waiting to be waypointed - :sigh:

It's a member only site to try and cut-down the leechers if possible - 10>20Mb downloads aint too bad, but with nearly 500Mb of maps on there now, a few 'Site Dump' Flashget Sessions a day would make a big hole in my monthly bandwidth allocation <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' />
Am awaiting for version 0.7 of e107 to finally be released as with that I can set bandwidth quotas and utilise some of my other sites as mirrors to spread the load. I fork out around £70 a month for umpteen website hosts I possess, so you can understand why I dont want to make it easier to incur 'Over-bandwidth' charges.

I'm still scouring the net for hidden/missed files so hopefully it will be of some use again. Gonna take a couple of weeks to get the latest ones up, as I'm actually taking the time and trouble to get the authors details (only fair) against each map as well.

I really don't see the use of this list. I mean, it's got most of the custom maps and that's cool and all, but other than showing people which custom maps are out it doesn't have a real purpose. It doesn't even have download links or screenshots to or from the map.

I kind of agree with Jezp... Uh I mean Walkabout. If you are going to create an archive of custom NS maps atleast produce some working download URLs.

i know that 25% of those maps are total crap. but there are the select few that are good.

a few maps to stay away from..

those maps always cause server crashes, either during gameplay, or after the map ends (weldsiege v1) ns_weldsiege2 and 2a dont have that problem though.

also download links would be nice.

and I AM pretty shure 50% are crap. it should be more like "25% are unplayable." this makes 75% useless maps. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' />
