<div class="IPBDescription">Cause identified</div> Just so you are aware. the cause of the poor site performance has been identified, but no fix has been implimented yet. Rest assured that the poor performance is not a permenant 'feature' of the new site. The problem could not have been identified without a heavy site use, so thanks for hammering the site, and thanks for being patient with us <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I thought the site was slow cause we were hammering it <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I would definitely like to speed it up more though. Anyone got any ideas?
flayra, I have an idea that could help speed up the site: ask the community if there is any problems that the brain trust can't track down, one of the 30,000 people should be able to help <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Does anybody else here think that they will ever see this again in their life?
Anyway, maybe when a few more people start finding the site active, the site will come under more stress and another bug may be unearthed. I would give it some time before stressing too much about the site again, because you guys probably haven't had sleep in weeks.

Since I assume youre not willing to post the code publicly it can be hard to help you to optimize it.. I also think that youre the best programmer on this forum..
You could ask DOOManic for some help thought since hes great at php.
ROCKET BOOSTERS!

I would love to help, but has the problem or bottleneck been identified? Is it just forums? Is it php? Database latency? Bottleneck in socket accept? Child process spawning?
crack? <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
oh no, we don't do drugs. we just smoke weed ^.O
performance is far better than yesterday. search works fine for me.
ROCKET BOOSTERS! <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
slightly annoying though, imagine entering the site and seeing the monitor taking off the tabel where its standing rising higer and higher untill the cabel snaps and therefor making the image of the boosters go awey
It usually works, but 1 time out of 5, I have to reload the page, usually multiple times, because nothing shows up. No 404, no MYsql errors, just blank white and "Done"
I had to do it in order to get to this add reply page...
