<div class="IPBDescription">it's been so long</div> Damn..i have trouble controlling fade after so long. It seems like after i swipe, I lose track of where the marine went. Blah..must practice..
perhaps it is all a matter abt concentration when attacking ? i had this problem sometimes too..but wat i did was juz to blink up and atk the marine when i c it
juz keep the cool when playin as a fade..guess it helps ?

The problem with playing aliens is that some of the ablities don't require skills (*cough* xeno *cough*) so it doesn't really teach someone, whose learning the game, how to play well on ns maps. For instance, on co maps, some new guy could go onos, and get focus, cara, redemp, and stop, and be as reckless as he wants to be, without fear of wasting res. On ns maps, res is very precious as the rate at which you can acquire res is determined by solely by teamwork and RFK and you only get to spend X amount of this res once. Higher lifeforms are also critical to the survival of the alien team, as the game progresses with the marines getting stronger upgrades.
But back to the point, you guys are right about practice being important and all. I guess it just takes a little adjustment period to get settled back into the pace of gameplay in NS.
when you go to hit something for the 1st time just shake your mouse like a bastard and you'll generally get a second bite/swipe in <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I know I was scared to go fade in NS maps because I knew I'd be wasting 50 res... but then after fading in combat for a while I was confident enough, and now I'm a pretty good fade in either. I'm certainly not phenomenal, but I can hold my own. Without combat, I don't know if I would have gotten good at any of the alien lifeforms. It's intimidating otherwise.

The old way? Like we did? get good map control, res, and have the res to go fade, die and repeat.<!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Haha, I suppose that would have worked too, but it would have taken longer. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

i spent so much time learning to be a good fade (pre co) its the only alien class i can use <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
as a skulk i get up close, get the first bite in, then these "l337" rines do an 8 feet straft jump in a random direction, and because of the skulks limited view its hard to know exactly were they went, and because they jumped quite a distance, by the time i get to them, im dead <!--emo&--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
fade on the other hand i find it really easy to track rines even when their doing their 8 feet jumps <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
