Quick Binding Question

<div class="IPBDescription">Leaping ahead of the competition....</div> Can I somehow bind the leap ability to say Q, so that i need not scroll throught my attacks each time. This way leaping and biting would be much easier. Thanks in advance. <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I think you would have to turn on "switch weapons automaticly" (or whatever its called).

    Then in your console type in:

    bind q "slot3;+attack1;slot1;+attack1"

    I think that would work. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Advanced Options, IIRC. I've got that set myself.

    I tested it, unless I entered something wrong it doesn't work.

    PS: After experimenting a bit I came up with this
    bind q "slot3;wait;+attack;wait;-attack;wait;slot1"
    Seems to work well enough for skulk leaping.

    Alot of damage can be done with leaping provided that you can connect with your target multiple times, so you should probably try just hitting 3 if you want to attack, and leave this for quick movement.

    EDIT: Removed scripts since the Dev team punishes (kills) players for using such scripts.

    Yes, the whole idea was to stop aliens from binding their abilities to keys. The amount of time it takes for you to switch weapons was taken into account for game balancing, and what you boys have done is just found an exploit around this code!

    Enjoy it while you can because hopefully Flayra will code out your these versions that don't kill you soon.

    I'm sure that if they intended to prevent rapid ability switching they would have coded 'weapon change times' into the game. EX: in CS no matter how rapidly you switch weapons, you still have a delay before they can be used. Same thing could be done in NS so i'm assuming that since it isn't there, it isn't supposed to be there.

    Preventing this is just plain stupid, it doesnt balance anything.

    Skulk needs legs to leap so why it cant use mouth to bite at the same time? I bet you can bite apple while jumping around, its bit difficult but you can do it

    Marine needs hands for handling weapons. So of course when he decides to switch HMG to welder, it takes time and also preparing weapons takes time.

    Same thing with Fade's blink. Why prevent Fade to blink next to marine and then quickly slash him?

    You can do leapbite and blinkslash without aliases, but still i cant see any good reason to prevent these. Soon this "alienbindstopper"-code will prevent these tricks totally.

    "Now i leap, then i wait 3 seconds before i can bite so that alienbindstoppercode wont kill me" how cool is that?

    What??? I have no idea what you just said you should work on your grammar skills. Honestly I dont think Flayra wants people to bind their keys. And its his mod so deal with it.

    Flayra just posted that if you use a Script, it will kill you.

    And it does kill you.. not always, but very often.
    *sigh* I'd like to see a special ability key in a future version perhaps, anything to make the alien movement more intuitive.

    Ok, thx, just saw the post. I personally never got killed by using it, but if the devs wish to remove the instant use of abilities, ok.

    the fact that there is no weapon delay sugests that you should be able to "quick use" skills
    however if someone from the development team states that this type of skill use is uninteded i'll happily edit those commands away (if they don't do it first).

    It was not my intention to exploit this amazing game, just to help out someone less knowledgable in half-life configs.

    OK, I just read that post by Flayra -<a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=1&t=8763&hl=kill&s=' target='_blank'>link</a>-

    Removed the script ...
    ... sorry <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
