<div class="IPBDescription">To find a couple of bugs I can't squish</div> Okay... I have tried for a couple of weeks now to find and fix some bugs in my map (mainly invalid brushes and such... but 1 saw into leaf error and a bad surface extent)

I was wondering... would anyone be willing to take the time to go thru my .rmf and find it for me? I'll supply the .rmf, the compile log, and any other info they need... I just NEED to figure out WTH is going on... and I'm at the end of my rope...     heh, the lighting works (or it used to anyway... can't even run the map at the moment 0o') but yeah... invalid brushes are running rampant... and they are things like cubes, which really screws me up 0o'

    he try and dont learn yet. maybe he have to use the entity search or browser or the entity list i forgot the name to type the brush number and start pursuit him on map for a marked brush

    It doesn't find two-dimensional solids though, maybe that's his problem?

    no, the solids look fine in hammer... they are 1 unit think by 16 long by 10 wide walls at the 8 unit grid... and they are cubes... all of them... 0o'

    I just can't see what the problem is with them... 0o' It's saying a square wall is invalid 0-o

    here is the magic solution:
    Open the map in hammer
    Click on the menu "Map" then "Go to brush #"
    Enter "Entity 0, Brush 695" into the form of the dialog box
    click ok
    look if the brush is damaged/fix it/rebuild it/delete it


    This works in 90 % of all cases when i get invalid brush errors

    And, even tho they show as the same colour in the 2d build views, they are NOT all tied together. I don't know why they have the same vis colour, but they shouldn't.

    if you found that brush with the method i described you should just delete the brush and rebuild it

    you said it was 1 unit thick?

    i always had terrible problems with 1 unit thick brushes, they never work right. try making it at least 8 or 16 units thick at the minimum.

    if you still have problems i can take a gander at the rmf, just post it on my forums in the mapping section and ill take a look. link is in sig.
