I sometimes find myself on MS while rest of the team yells me to save hive from lockdown. On those situations im often tied. If i get them bacon--->savedhive If i kill base---->savedhive If i dont have have time---->deadhivedeadbaconme. This is the problem, you should stick on what you are doing. Rushing from ms to 5 marines with sgs and turrets might save the hive but i still have ankward feeling that their base could be dead while I blinkswipe them every half a second trip from hive. On pubs you cant do much if you aren`t informed early enough when they have 3 turrets and 3 guys there you could be doing something else than desperately killing them.

There no worse feeling than putting up a hive (to help out the team) and watch it die due to incompetent fades.

Yes, at least two, no, I'm not naming names.

Second, I don't care what excuse a fade player tries to pull out of the hat, slacking off or not the idea is that the aliens work as a team, kind of hard to do when a player who should know better is goofing off because its "just a pub".

And people wonder why there's so much hate in the community...

Imagine a different scenario.. A skulk is attacking a marine, fade and marine res tower nearby. Would you, the fade, spectate thinking "Hey, I might steal his rfk.", or would you help, having a 50% chance of stealing his kill, but making sure the skulk survives so he can take down the rt?

Maybe it's because people expect way too much from a random gathering of people with a huge skill range who just happen to be on the same server, 70 - 80% of which have no idea what they're doing?

Aside from the moral aspect of it, fades are meant to be the marine-killers. They dont do much damage to buildings at all, and they're obviously made for quick attacks that arent meant to... that's right, kill marines!

    Ive already been doing this

But when he says fades shouldnt kill marines, he means ignoring the needs of the team for youre omguberleethax score

    killing marines = good
telling your team to put a sock in it so you can get a k/d of 100/-100 = bad

Again, I believe you're preaching to the choir. People who frequent these forums don't tend to only care about their k:d ratio in my experience.

no1 in pub as fades consider that much.
if there is too much enemy, fades runs away.
if there is one and skulk is killing it, fade goes in and tries to kill it before skulk does.

    so simple

Maybe true in the past but recently most of the strategy related threads involve comments doing x will make your K:D really good. While I can see a case FOR this, I have to say I personally don't think a good K:D reflects a good team-orientated strategy

I think it does, for instance if the fade has all the kills on the team, that's good, because that's what their suppose to do.

You know, according to the name of this thread, a team full of "(x)NSplayer" and "D3thnihg7Cr!mz0n" really are amazing at the game.

Why would you not want to kill the rines and get map control? Do you enjoy loseing your games?

Hate to break it to you, well no I don't. Capping station access alpha or dropping a random OC is no help to your team at the start, and sometimes good players have to spend their res on what they know the smart choice is to pull their team through.

A good K:D ratio is important, and not for E-private inflation. If you and the rest of your team is boasting a positive K:D ratio by a large margin, you're probably winning. Obviously, the anti-personel unit of the aliens (IE Fade) is going to have quite a few kills. How is that bad? Should the fade just let the rines wonder everywhere while it stays busy killing a res-node something like 35% slower than a skulk could?

NS is a team game. Understanding each person's place in the team is as important. Forget your incorrect ideal's of teamwork meaning everyone does an equal amount. That's called communism. Everyone doing their role the BEST they can helps the team way more than "everyone go gorge and suicide a node ftw"

And once these newer players start becomeing better, then they in turn get their chances to shine as the fade that singlehandedly owns the entire rine team, or the LMG who destroys every alien skulk and keeps a spawn camp going untill a fade is forced to return to the hive so the alien economy can continue unhindered. (that's right, spawn camping is a method of harming the aliens technological and economical advancements; the same is true for the rines.)

Everyone gets their chances to shine. Why other players should play the game other than to the best of their ability is beyond me. People get better by playing those who are better than them, and understanding how they work.

If you haven't noticed yet, aliens are constantly fighting for TIME. Rines tech quickly and must aggresvely win situations in order to prevail; aliens win the war of attrition. By killing boatloads of rines, that fade is giving you the most important thing your team needs- time.

If you want to help your team, do what you're good at, and understand to take a "less appreciated" role when there is someone (or several someones) of a higher playing level.

Playing well is the best thing you can do for your team.
