Some hate against me
I'm one of those people that leave their computer on at night. Well, everynight it seems I get some sort of external attack on my computer. Its getting rediculous! I'm about to start hitting that IP if its the same one. Also, to make things worse, my Virus Scanner is about to expire...and I don't think I have the money to renew the subscription.

Wow...such h8.

Is this happening because I made fun of stupid people? Maybe its that GD wormhole virus or whatever.

Such h8.

Netbus Trojan a few times and other minor ones.

And I went and whois'ed the IP, and they are from Europe. However, they probably being routed through or whatever.

Maybe I should fix my linux router now.

Other than getting new virus protection programs why don't you stop leaving the PC on overnight, it's not only your electricity you're wasting it our energy resources.

[RANT]I wish people were more responsible in terms of electricity/gas/water resources. If it's cold put a jumper on, if you're not still washing your hands turn the tap off, if you're not watching TV turn the set off... from the POWER (the standby button should be banned from all television sets if we're too lazy not to rely on a remote to 'turn off' a TV). When you're asleep do you leave all the lights in the house on? NO! so turn off your PC![/RANT]

computers use hardly any electricity so leaving one on isn't the biggest deal, if you have it set to turn off parts it isn't using anyway... but yeah, if you're not having it do anything like download overnight, then just turn it off... otherwise, firewall, virus scan, spyware scan, etc etc...

    edit: and use firefox ;P

    Step 1: Use Firefox
    Step 2: Use Thunderbird
Step 3: Use any recent Norton AV
Step 4: Shut your freaking computer off, IRC uptime counters arent THAT important

    It makes my e-wang bigger.

It could just be port scanning if you're getting hit by things like Netbus but as long as you have a quasi-decent router you should be OK.

At least you spotted it, its the ones you don't notice that screw you...

Consumption wont be effected dramatically by conservation at home. Industrial and Transportational uses make up for over 80% of the energy use in the US. If you are in any way concerned about energy conservation then looking into those two groups, not domestic consumption.

    AND DONT RECYCLE!
