One Week
<div class="IPBDescription">7 days.</div> Half Life 2 is so close. In one week, I will be severely angered due to my having to work a full shift AND go to jiujitsu on the night that Half Life 2 is released.
Any final opinions of how the game will impact the world? Will we see a massive spike in terms of people playing in the world of Half Life and Steam?
Also, if you believe that the second that the game is released, the forum community across the internet will be consumed with the fire and wrath of "Half Life 2 vs Doom 3" threads, give me a "yea."

For sure, Halo 2 will outsell HL2 for weeks. But 5 years down the line, when were complaining about HL3/H3, HL2 will have become top dog.
I myself, am taking that Tuesday off, as I already reported. I got Cs or higher in all my classes, so my Mom said "Fine, you can stay home that day."- which for me is going to be a great day indeed.
What time do you all think they'll unlock it? Midnight?

Is it bad to say it's not flat out there. It's a cheap connection though £40/$70 a month shared between 3 students.
As for HL2, maybe good to look at steam online players graph and watch it sink like a stone on tuesday.

AFAIK they are unlocking it at midnight, Seattle time(don't ask me what time zone that is)
i can't skip school that day, parents won't let me.
But i am forcing her to go out and buy HL2 for me. and if she can't find it, i'll force her to look around in a 10 mile radius.

And my NTL cable connection claims that you can't download more than 1gb a day. I frequently have in the past, and they ain't done jack about it. Maybe its just a threat, who knows.

Though knowing my luck the mailman won't drop my present through the door on Tuesday. There'll be some legal thing somewhere about them not being allowed to put it in the mail til the 16th, destroying my cunning preorder plans.

CSS is nice just to eff with.
I myself am going to wake up that day, get dressed, brush my teeth, do my hair, walk into the computer room, have my Mom put a chair against the outside to keep me from getting out, and will sit in that chair till the game is over, or my dad gets home.
