Help Creating A Dedicated Server

<div class="IPBDescription">how do i do it? (noobie alert)</div> I have played NS for a while, but I want to start up a dedicated server.
I downloaded the .zip file, but I dont know what to do with it.
Where do I put it, and how do I start the dedicated server?

In the Steam games list, make sure you have 'dedicated server' available.

Then, unzip the beta 5 dedicated server zip that you downloaded into your half-life folder.

Double-click the 'dedicated server' option in the Steam games list, and it should give you an interface which allows you to start your server. In the mod list, choose 'ns' and setup whatever else you like, and you're all set <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I unzipped it, but I still cant select it from the list because its not there.
What did i do wrong?

If you want to run the ded server from your Steam GUI, then extract the NS folder to:

<Path to Steam>\SteamApps\<steam username>\dedicated server\

So it would be something like:

c:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\your@email.com\dedicated server\ns\

Then relaunch the dedicated server and it'll be in the list.

aehm,. i wanna start a nase server,. i did so like its posted here,..

but i got following error after i hv selected servers infos and press "start server":

Couldn't find 'decals.wad' in "DEFAULTGAME" search path

Um I tried t look and see about a previos post explaining how to do it [save me some time] BUT no1 has 1 that I could Find Ill post a large article on starting an NS server and I hope they make it sticky!!
