I hope that was suoopsed to say of not or...
I would meet Sidhartha Gotama (AKA the Buddha). I'd like to know what he had to say without thousands of years of distortion.

obvious answer (but thats because its a good one, most religious leaders would be cool <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> ) well maybe
Hard to say, probably Plato or Aristotle, or maby Snt Augustine... Or Jesus, ya that would be kind of cool. Acctually even meeting muhamad would be pretty cool, assuming he didn't kill me.
Who could I meet? Hmm. Just one person? Tough question.
I'd like to say "somebody mysterious who we knew nothing about" but I can't think of anybody [funnily enough <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->], then I'd have said Julius Caesar but he'd be pretty arrogant, so I'm going to go with Marcus Aurelius. Only, he has to speak english!
He makes good games, but I can't image finding a good topic for conversation, expecially with the language barriers and everything...

Siddhartha Gautama. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> Indian names can be tough so I really don't blame you on this one, Cabewse.
And yes, I think I second this one. However, what you would find may suprise you, especially his lack of dealing with any kind of Deity whatsoever.
Hell yes! Great minds think alike.
He would slap your liberal butt hard
I would like to meet jesus (obvious++ answer)
Damn, now that's a good list.
Might you also add some of the great Grecian thinkers perhaps?
but i just thought of ghengis kahn or General Belisarius or that crazy hun atilla
COMMIE
I'd like to have met my grandfather on my father's side. I'm told he had a quick wit, and I think I would have got on well with him (he died before I was born).
I've always thought it'd be pretty cool to meet various people from Biblical times. Partly to see for myself what actually happened, and partly because I speak some Hebrew (I find the concept of being able to understand what people are saying - thousands of years ago - kind of cool).
I've also wondered about what it would be like to explain modern technology to people in the past, and how it would have altered the world for technology to have such a head start (things like firearms, cars, computers etc). I can't think of anyone in particular who I'd want to impart such knowledge to, except maybe the Romans.

Holy Christ... Imagine the possibilities. We really would be living like the Jetsons right now.

Unlikely, since we share many of the same views and he isn't ignorant in that "with us or against us" kind of way. Besides, even teddy managed to pissoff alot of republicans (by supporting anti-trust laws). And unlike many of the conservatives I meet nowadays, I'm sure he could stand to have an intellegint thought provoking discussion without resorting to name calling or plugging his ears and chanting "la la la la la la la".
Also, I'm less liberal than you think, remember I voted for Badnarik.
plus use of Comrade = cool in my communism book
i'd love to meet this man.
Erwin Rommel - One of the greatest tank commanders of all time deserves some recognition...along with his view on politics.
Albert Einstein - Uncommon political views mixed with a brilliant understanding of Physics = Woot.
Benjamin Franklin - He was just cool. It'd be awesome to have known him and his mind.
Wernher von Braun - One of the first rocket scientists and the precursor to our current rocketry standards.
Sigmund Freud - maybe converse over some of that exciting modern psychology...or just have him try to analyse my dreams to find out how he thinks I want to have sex with my family members and possibly my dog - just by mentioning a plank of wood and a bucket.
Ralph Emerson - because Thoreau would be a bastard.
Thomas Edison (in his younger years) - talk about his inventions; along with the fact there's probably a 1000 schools named after him now.
Karl Marx - because if you want to discuss communism you go to the source.
Adolf Hitler - aside from possibly unconvincing him of himself, learning why he thought the way he did.
...well, there's probably tons more. Rommel takes the list as first there, though.
People who I would not be able to instantly converse with:
Socrates - just to see if he could twist what I say around, too <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> .
Marcus Aurelius - stoics are always fun...or something.
Jesus - always easier to have a better judgement of character in person.
Muhammed - same as above.
Lao Tzu - but I doubt he'd want to talk much if he's invested in the religion.
Ghengis Khan - if he doesn't want to be all violent about it.
Hannibal (or one of the many members of Carthage's council) - just to tell them how messed up their system of controlling generals is; and that it's going to cost them their civilization.
Alexander the Great - as long as he doesn't take up one of those overly violent moods (and maybe just to tour Alexandria a few centuries later).
Hernan Cortes - because you should want to find out why a guy decides to kill a large number of a civilizations citizens in search for money...
Ahh, well...I'm sure there's more. Rommel, Marx and Jesus and Muhammed top those lists though.
(I type too much...)
