<div class="IPBDescription">I'm learning to hate it.</div> See, I love the moderators here. When they ban, they BAN. Its blatant, its obvious, and its for a reason, and no one debates it.
But me? I just had to be moderator on the FFXI warcry forums. God, I'm hating life.
See, first, I locked a spam thread. Someone makes another thread about "Waaaaai/???!?!?/111onebacon", and another mod reopens it because "It didn't hurt anything". I say fine, okay. I let up a bit on my duties too. But one woman, a user going by "TheMom", decides to make it her personal agenda to ruin me and my name.
I've never been so close to banning someone for something that isn't spamming/flaming before- even though she basically is doing the latter, she's also a VERY respected member of the community, and has that attitude of "Because I bore a child, I am God. Suck it."- now, don't get me wrong, I think if you can bear a child, you deserve respect. But this woman is just seriously **** me off.

I've asked her to stop nicely in the past. At the moment, I told my senior moderator to take care of it, because I'm ready to perma ban her, then hardcode ban her IP, and anything with the word "Mom" in it from the Warcry database.

That's life, your not allowed to kick the crap out of people for pointing out your faults, even if your in authorty over them. Act benevolent and express your side of the story, there's no need to get on a power trip just because you have mod status.
FYI, the issue you're talking about right here is basicly why I have never attemted to get mod status anywhere. Even if I belived I am increadibly suited for the job (face it, we probably all do) in the end its just extra work that I have to be responsible for, for what? Just so I can warn people about rule breaking and acctually do something when they don't listen? Why should I care, someone like you or Nem will come along sooner or later and do my dirty work for me.
[edit] seriously Quauna, let someone else deal with it. If you take it into your own hands you'll just be accused of being partia primarily to your own concernsl and loose alot of respect. At least if someone else bans her then you can argue that although you agree with the ban, it wasn't your fault, it was because someone else found her beheivior inapropriate.
Also, it's a good idea to stick to your guns. It's a private forum; you all make the rules, and they are as strong and respected as your enforcement of them. Here on the NS forums, we've got a simple procession: warning, temp, ban. We stick to it, and it works.

There are fourteen forums that I can see that a standard Member cannot see (including subforums). And there are a few more that even *I* don't have access to.
