Ns(or hl) crashes

I just installed Windows 2000 to my comp. And then i installed NS. I love your mod but i really cant play it...the game crashes in random parts and im really ###### at this. Ive tried 3 diffrent Detonators and installed the newest VIA 4in1:s.

Any help? Is it NS or HL? Or my comp?

AMD T-Bird 1GHz, 256mb RAM, GeForce 256

    hmm.. shouldn't be your computer by any means, and you are running the latest drivers too...

    I assume you are running the latest public det's and not a beta version of the det's? those are usually less stable.

    Try other half-life mods and see if they crash or not...
    Also make sure you have updated your <a href='http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.asp' target='_blank'>DirectX</a> as well as any 2000 service packs?

    Other than that I dunno what to tell ya...
