Join Teams Rr-problem

<div class="IPBDescription">"free roaming"(death) mode on join team</div> ok thats really annoying!!!

rr, one hive, one cc, 1 marinespawn, about 12 alienspawns...
but when I step into "join team" (no matter if its aliens or marine) Im in the "free roaming" mode or the death mode. no matter what I try I cant join any team.
I had this error some weeks ago, I fixed it by testing the map under ns 2.0 and the map worked well. steam? I dont want t reinstall hl retail and ns 2.0 only to test this map so whats this ****?

this gets really annoying... REALLY ANNOYING!!!!!!

    I had the same problem for marines spawns. Info_team_starts need abou 160 units space in z dimension.

    This problem appeared when I upgraded to B5.

    tried to narrow down the error.
    stil cant join the teams after changing team of the hive to "team 2" (just a try although I never do that when placing hives). UIm not even able to join spec anymore. that really **** up my plans on finishing that baby.

    u put a info_team_start seting whos is the team 1 and who is the team 2?

    did you make sure sv_cheats was set to 1 ?

    Make absolutely sure the map name starts with ns_.

    If this fixes your problem Mendasp gets full credit, as he helped me with the exact same problem a couple of months back.

    that doesnt matter if I did (but I did). because you have to be able to join a team even if you are alone. or would you suggest to play this map with sv_cheats 1 , only? XD

    might try that although Im pretty shure that one of the older version named with ns_ caused the same problem.

    try get the sample.map on faq and copy the rr entities to u map.

    ns_g0op_siege2 has that problem, i never could figure out why though. even if i put a info_team_start in the middle of the room for aliens it does that. but when there are players on both sides the spawns work fine.

    Purpose: defines parameters for commander mode

    Fields: Smart Edit Name Field Name Description
    View Height viewheight This is the height that the commander will view the world from. There should be no brush entities at this height. The entire readyroom should be placed above this height so it doesn't contribute to w-polys.
    Minimum Map Z minviewheight Defines the height where the black background is drawn to avoid HOM. Entities below this height are hidden from the commander but still contribute to w-polys.
    Minimum X minx Defines how far left the commander can scroll.
    Maximum X maxx Defines how far right the commander can scroll.
    Minimum Y miny Defines how far down the commander can scroll.
    Maximum Y maxy Defines how far up the commander can scroll.
    Top down XY cull distance culldistance See notes.

    Flags: Name Flag Value Description
    Don't draw background 1 Use if you already have the commander inside a map "shell" and don't need to avoid HOM

    Notes: If the distance between a brush entity's origin and the commander's current viewpoint is greater than the XY culling value along the X or Y axis, the entity won't be drawn in the commander view. Larger values will increase w-polys, but a value that is too small will cause brush entities to disappear when they near the edge of the screen. The proper setting will vary for each map depending on the commander's height and the size of the brush entities in the map.

    The cull distance affects all players' views as of the NS 1.02 server patch. The maximum distance along the X or Y axis at which any player other than the commander will see an entity is approximately twice the cull distance value.
