This is true. PS2 controler sucks for FPS. I play my GC the most, but Xbox has yet to produce something that makes me want to actually buy the console.

I like both systems but I don't see why everyone is whining about the controller. I like the PS2 controller better than any other system. (Keyboard & Mouse owns all of course, though.)

I might buy this game, it looks OK.

pulse didn't answer the question, so i will.

it was the first truly engaging console FPS.. consoles really do have a place in gaming.. and no game before it really holds a candle to Halo's story/design/control system.

and in case you didn't notice, the control system for halo that i'm talking about is not the arrangement of the buttons and functions: the acceleration and shot leading distance and all of those things are better than have been done with any before it.

Halo was great i played it for days after days, and even today. I can go on, but it'll just completely transform this thread, just want to prove your statement wrong. PS2 beats xbox in sales, because it clearly got a one year advantage over the xbox. Xbox has already starting to beat PS2 in the number of units sold per month.

Let's see-

KOTOR- Played through it, sucks.
Fable- Yet to play it.
Project Gotham- Played it, don't like racing games, meh.
Otogi- Played it, epitomy of mediocrity.
Ghost Recon- Played through it, alright.
Splinter Cell- Played it, sucks.
Splinter Cell 2- Played it, sucks worse somewhow.
Rainbow Six- Played it, mediocre.
RTCW- Played it, sucks.

And of course-
Halo- Played through it, boring, repetitive, etc. Was fun for a few days. Sucks.

However, I'm no fan of the PS2 either. Actually, I think it sucks. But I do think Killzone looks good. I like the gritty, faded, desaturated visual style. Also, the textures, models, and animations, while not terribly detailed, are expertly crafted (better than Halo 2s, IMO). It's a damn shame that I don't have a PS2.

Is Natural Selection a bad game because it was inspired by Gloom? Is Planescape: Torment a bad game because Baldur's Gate had a story?

A game doesn't have to be revolutionary to be good. Halo is very good, one of the best first person shooters I've played, and I've played a lot.

Halo didn't bring that much new stuff to the table; there were good first person shooters on consoles before Halo (Goldeneye and Perfect Dark), the tiny improvement it has made to the console fps control standard (Pioneered by Turok... now there's a game that deserves to be called revolutionary, if only for its ingenious use of the otherwise worthless N64 controller) isn't really worth any mention in the gaming history books, but that doesn't stop it from being a very good game.

The graphics are not "OMG amazing crapz meh pance!!!" but they are great for the PS2 which has such shite graphics capabilities. Some games you just really want to study the artwork, but most of the time if it doesnt completely suck, you barely notice it. (note: that's while playing. screenshots never ever do anything but lead to people **** about the graphics)

The eyes of these soldiers remind me of HL2:

But yeah, I also think that the graphics are superb, considering it's being played on a PS2. My friend has a GameCube, and it's really fun and all, but I don't think I'll ever buy a console because when I beat a game I usually never play it again. I played SSBM with him alot and I have to say that those types of games really have to be played on a console. On a PC it would just suck. But, I've never played a FPS on a console before, so I wouldn't know if it's really as bad as you guys say.

sure the graphics are good right now but im sure when you get in game youll notice the **** **** motion blur (which drives me insane cuz i cant see **** while aiming franticly)

@cannon fodder

dear god man what games do you like? you just crapped on some of the best games i ever played

yes they do.

Alot of the movies you guys are seeing are from the beta's.

I dont know what you guys are talking about-The ps2's controller is awsome for fps (ill admit that the xbox's is slightly better though) And the game has some seriously amazing archetecture (sp?) that you guys havent seen.

Yup i like my sig too, only because of the people who like to play a certain game (not mentioning any names) with midgets with lazer pistols and voices that sound like they sucked in a bunch of helium.

Good God, people. Who the hell cares if some people (myself included) prefer the PS2?

That's one of the neat things about life: WE DON'T ALL HAVE TO LIKE THE SAME THINGS.

Any system specs, screenies, vids, or reviews you can produced to "scientifically" support your claims are void before you use them. In matters of opinion, facts don't matter. And I'm oh so sure that screaming your heads off about how eachother's consoles, controllers, and games suck is really gonna change someone's mind.

It's more likely to turn our beautiful forums into a tidle wave of blood and nightmares. So, ease up, huh?

I liked Half-Life too, but lets not kid ourselves, HL's story wasn't all that good when it was Doom's story, and it was even less interesting as Quake's story, by the time it was HL's story, I was really sick of it.

BF1942 was just a buggy, laggy, spawncamperiffic mess.

Chrono- What games do I like? Shogun Total War, Half Life, MGS2, Shenmue, Jet Set Radio (NOT future! Future sucks!), Starsiege, Black Hawk Down, Grim Fandango.

IGN gave it 7.5! Game of the Year, right?

First of all, Half-Life 2 and Halo 2 are coming out soon. So a lot of people need to stop pretending that this game means anything in the grand history of games. Killzone looks like it has all the gameplay features of Star Trek: Elite Force. That's not that impressive since Elite Force came out four years ago.
