<div class="IPBDescription">Servers</div> Ive been using Natural Selection multiplayer with All Seeing Eye. When i try to join a server it says im using a different protocol version 47 and mine 46. But if the server is from steam how can The All Seeing eye find it? I want to play NS without steam,

I want to play natural selection without steam because when i try to register my half-life cd-key on steam it says Duplicate cd key and i bought the game. And so i guess someone stole my Cd-Key. I sent a letter via normal mailing not email and told steam to reset my cd key cause someone stole it from a virus or something. ive been waiting about 2 months and they still havent informed me about they reseting my cd-key and on the steam website they said it would take about 4 to 6 weeks to reset it. Im very angry right now for them not reseting my cd key when they should have done it earlier. Im still waiting for them to reset it!!!!!!

I wish they didnt shutdown WON network this is why i hate steam <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    As far as I know, there is no way to play anything HL related outside of the steam network now. You can use ASE or other 3rd party browsing programs, but you still have to have a valid steam account in order to play online. Your only option may be getting another copy of half life, I'm afraid.

    Oh no, a used copy of Half Life for 7 dollars. Tragic.

    Well, here's to another complaint to those who steal. I feel the same way that you do, and I wish something was done about this. But the people of steam arn't the fastest at taking down those who hack and steal for some reason...

    you could get the Half Life 2 Silver pack on steam. it comes with valves back catalogue, which includes half life. plus you get Half Life 2, Half Life:Source, DoD:Source and CS:Source. sounds like a great deal to me. if you want to wait a little while, i can give you my old steam account since i'll be buying the silver package myself. although i dont know when...

    Its possible.
    There have been "old NS versions with ASE and without steam" threads back in the days were NS changed to steam, use the search function with "3 years back", you should find simple ASE turorials.

    There is nothing illegal is just playing outdated Versions of a game in LAN.

    That reminds me of that time I wanted a server for my clan, so I bought HL for 40$. When I was installing steam, it asked for my cd-key before the acount name, right after I entered the cd-key my pc rebooted.

    I lost my cd-key forever under no name, great.

    You realize you can run HLDS without a cd key at all? Since you're not actually playing the game, just hosting, a copy of dedicated server is free.
