    Somehow $300 for something as trivial as a videocard does not seem like such a good deal to me.

    uh...video card is just important as proc and memory if you want to play anything other then HL... i'm not a fan of nvidia, so i would suggest the x800 even if its more expensive..you will get better results in my opinion.
