Im aware that randomly some players are Black and some are white.
Is there a way to do the same thing but more then 2? the problem is i need to film a series and i want to know if i can use more then 2 marine models, so people can tell apart from the characters.
Is there anyway i can also change the code to make so by STEAM id it gives a certain model

but you can have 2 marines in one model.... since there are 2 skins that are used by ns ("white" and "black" marine).
It is possible... there is also a male/female marine out that uses the 2nd skins that way.
Only problem there is that you won't be able to have any aliens when you're filming group sequences.
What you could do is have your Marine 1 and Marine 2 as proper marines, and then perhaps the Onos as a third marine. That way your actors can face hordes of Skulks, Fades, Gorges, and Lerks. Or you can make the lerk a fourth marine, allowing them to face skulks, fades and gorges.
You get the idea. It wouldn't work for GAMEPLAY but it would work for the purpose of making footage.
*note* link may be broken

by this logic couldnt he use a heavy marine and a jp marine as well? dont they use diffrent models?(im not arguing with you a sit may sound but adding to your idea!:))
i'de love to see your proof of that one there bud.
Whitey
Ethnic
HA
JP
Skulk
Gorge
Lerk
Fade
Onos
And if you were so motivated, you could make OC/DC/MC/SC npc standins who just fill up the background.
Only problem is that some players appear to be invincible for some reason, and that some players can walk through others... But for the purpose of filming, it'd work.
If any modelers want to aid in the production of the series, i would give ya link to it.
we need a few custom models for characters.
It was a really hacked-up thing... I ran SET_MODEL("models/theothermodelthingy.mdl") in PlayerPostThink() or PlayerPreThink()... forget which.
You'd need to code in some stuff so it doesn't set _all_ players to the new model, but that wouldn't be too hard.
Someone else can do it I'm sure, it's just that I'm just too lazy to do it, and I don't feel like re-installing the HL SDK and metamod SDK (which is eevil) =P
