How To Devour?

ToridasToridas Join Date: 2004-07-20 Member: 30002Members
How does devour work? Every time I've tried to use it, I get right in front of a marine and press the "attack" button repeatedly (left click) but the guy never gets in my belly! Is there some trick I'm not getting here?

Use the SEARCH function, you will find about a billion threads on this topic.

most new onos-newbies just need to look down (aim a bit lower than u usually would), then devour. just needs some practice.

Usually if you press the crouch button, its easier.

If you want to get the hang of it, do a search on the forum for the devour x-hair, your call.

Yeah the devour crosshair will help a lot. The trick is to aim with the tip of your horn.

Aim for the stomach or feet.

The Crosshair is your best bet if you want to improve rapidly, and looks nice as well. NS Arms Lab's website has the crosshair.

aim it like a regular gun, the center of your screen on the marine

No it isnt, the tip of the horn has nothing to do with 'aiming' devours, unless you like to "aim" to the upper-right of your targets?.

all you need to do is practice a few times. it actually isn't that hard to get the hang of.

get to know how and practice to devour:
    1) a marine standing
    2) a marine crouching
    3) a marine in the middle of his jump
    4) a jp that flies right above your head

of course there are more scenarios such as marines standing on higher/lower platforms, standing on buildings, etc. but once u get the hang of those four it shouldn't be that hard to devour in most circumstances.

I forgot the horn turns to the side. You have to aim where the tip of the horn is with gore.

no... use a crosshair. the tip of the horn of gore isnt centered. as they said before, crouch or aim for the legs.

Crouch and aim centre-screen seems to work for me.

wow its been a long time since i've been on these forums..

anyway there's a custom crosshair pack somewhere on these forums that gives you a sort of circle-like reticle with which you can use to aim for devour. It really helps if you're a beginner.
