Grenades + friendly fire = wonderful

<div class="IPBDescription">Finally an even game</div>Grenades were always a problem, marienes would spam them at OTHER MARINES and grant them invulnerability to melee (nobody could get close).
But tonight I got into a game with friendly fire on... (of course, you need an admin present to boot lamers) ... and it worked out so nicely. It was an amazing series of games, back and forth the whole time. The moment the marines went ALL grenadier and started to stupidly spam all over the place they killed each other. It was still VERY effective against alien defenses but you couldnt run down corridors with a buddy firing grenades at your feet and be totaly immune to melee anymore.
So the marines won, then the aliens won, then the marines won, etc and there was never a time when the marines were simply overwhelming the aliens just due to grenades (you never saw hundreds of grenade kills on the top right of the screen like you always do in every other server).
So in summary, friendly fire makes it great! (Aliens can kill each other by mistake too get out of the way of that charging onos <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

If grenades recognise the IFF signature of nearby friendlies and do not detonate if they would harm a friendly, then it makes it so you can still spam rooms with them that may have aliens / clear alien defenses but you cant defend using them by spamming them at your own feet / teammates feet / amongst all your turrets...
There's very little aliens can do when marines build turrets, then hide behind them and GRENADE SPAM THE TURRETS. Nothing survives long range, nothing gets close. End of aliens.
If friendly fire is on , or if it was tweaked so grenades refuse to explode near friendlies, its a whole different story.
