Well, if you really really want a super compact computer to take around, Falcon makes the best. Then again, you could get a better computer for the same amount of money if you built your own, then you could make a handle or something.

In my November issue of PCGamer they review the FragBox 2 at 95%. The new SFF case allows some more room, but you're still restricted to a Micro ATX mainboard( 1x PCIE and 1 PCI slot) with the Intel D925XBC, but the options are like the Mach V.

I would do it myself. I bought a Mach V some years ago. While the cool factor was nice along with support and bragging rights of Falcon NW, you can also save yourself LOTS of cash doing it yourself.

You don't save cash buying premade compared to building unless you buy like a moron. Priceshunting is easy to do for parts so I really need to see a list of what kind of prices we are looking at to determine the value of the machine. Link me to a website or something already, reputation alone doesn't fix poor numbers, just look at Dell.

[edit] FYI, you don't use a drill when building a computer (unless you make custom cases, and in that case you should have no fear of building machines), its really as simple as putting the right chips into the right sized slot and doing that over and over. My computer teachers 10 year old has built a machine, all you need is to DL a 'how to build a computer' document off the web, read the manual a wee bit, and there is really nothing that can go wrong.

When it comes to Falcon-NW reputation speaks leaps and bounds, but it's so much more than that. That's a whole different story though, because if you're interested in just the rig you can skip all the other services and look at the components alone.

head over to falcon-nw.com and look for yourself.

The answer to the million-dollar question is...BUILD IT YOURSELF. Does it really have to be Micro-ATX form factor? If it does not, but you still want a small PC, just buy a mini-tower and customize it. However, if you have your mind set on a cube, try these parts:

    <a href='http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=15100' target='_blank'>Antec Minuet Case</a>
    <a href='http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=M&Product_Code=110744&Category_Code=imb_775' target='_blank'>Intel D925XBC w/ PCIE</a>
    <a href='http://www.corsairmicro.com/corsair/xms2.html' target='_blank'>4GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 Memory</a>
    <a href='http://www.nvidia.com/page/geforce_6800.html' target='_blank'>GeForce 6800 Ultra (PCIE)</a>
    <a href='http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=22-144-154&DEPA=0' target='_blank'>Dual WD 250GB SATA Hard Drives</a>
    <a href='http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=16-102-013&depa=0' target='_blank'>Promise SATA/RAID Controller</a>
    <a href='http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=27-151-208&depa=0' target='_blank'>SAMSUNG 16X DVD Drive</a>

I was watching TSS (The Screen Savers) the other day, and they did a review on portable gaming machines, and the fragbox got the win. If you want that specific kind of computer, and have the money to spend, go for it.

    However

You would be able to get a better gaming computer for less money by building it yourself, but it won't be compact like the fragbox.

What I've never understood is all these 10 year olds building computers. How did they figure out how to wire stuff like USB and Firewire into the headers on the motherboard? That took me a few solid hours.

If you want to spend the money on a SFF rig like that, go for it. Just do yourself a favor and get 2 absolutely vital parts:

    AMD64 Processor
    ATI GPU

Yeah, but Alienware, every time a new one comes out- beats it EASILY. I've seen cases where the Falcon comes out, with voodoo too, getting high ratings from all around. Then suddenly, a month later, the Alienware comes out and OBLITERATES them with some sweet pieces. I've seen things so drastic they'd make you just wonder "Huh?"- like DOOM 3 running 1600x1200 FSAA at max, same with ani, everything at max, they even went into the internal config settings, as well as used the self-lighting shadows mod, and against the PCs with the no-tweaks/mods STILL got 20 more FPS in it. Alienware is incredible, and frankly, their case is 10x better than any of the other's in my opinion, if only because its nice, shiny, round, and has a nice cable-buncher built in.

    ...best EVAR.

...but oh yeah, about LAN party-able PCs, the Frag box is the best if you can't build your own, definately. Its nice and purty too!

<a href='http://www.hypersonic-pc.com/2001/index.asp' target='_blank'>http://www.hypersonic-pc.com/2001/index.asp</a><--- These guys tend to be a tad cheaper than 'name brand' pc companies.
