Just moving here to OKC a few weeks ago I needed to find a decent theatre that isn't 10+ miles from where I live pronto because of the movie Team America. I had gone to the 3:20 showing and there were only a handful of people, and unfourtunately for me there were 2 cowboy punks who got bored halfway through the movie. They had started making snoring sounds and quietly chatted amongst each other, but quit once the action picked up.. that or they felt like they could laught again.
First off.. if you're a fan of South Park and like Trey and Matt's brand of comedy then Team America is right up your alley. If not or even just remotely like South Park this movie will most likely offend more than entertain you. Everyone even myself were kind of affraid to laugh at some parts. Maybe because people get confused when they see gratuitous marionette pupet gore, or don't get the MANY associations and symbolism within the movie.
<span style='color:DarkSlateGray'>There were a number of scenes that just stood out more than the others. I read about the sex scene and the many versions of that particular scene, but I had no idea it was going to be that explicit. I mean.. so many positions.. those marionettes sure were.. animated. The running gags were great and didn't stale and I loved the speach about the D*cks, P**sies, and **sholes.. being a recurring joke made me bust out laughing because it was well timed</span>
<span style='color:DarkSlateGray'>Like I mentioned above there are lots of hidden associations and symbolism in this movie. Gary Johnson is personified as America.. along with the rest of the team. When Team America is dispatched to nab terrorists(like in the opening of the movie) they end destroying most of Paris. The movies seems to reflect thoughts and opinions surrounding 9/11 and the way we(the U.S) handle terrorism in a whole. This was all done very well</span>
<span style='color:DarkSlateGray'>There is a running gag about Team America's "missing intelligence". This was a good running gag throughout the movie that took various forms. Team America has a central computer called I.N.T.E.L.L.I.G.E.N.C.E. that sounds a little stoned and sometimes gets the intelligence wrong. Also, Lisa(I believe) is a "telepath" who also feeds the Team with intelligence on the ground and again gets that intelligence wrong almost killing Gary early in the movie</span>

Come up to Edmond, the AMC 24 at Quail Springs is pretty good. Definately better than the Regal Cinemas theatre at Crossroads. Supposedly there's a new one in Bricktown, but being Bricktown I avoid it at all possible costs.

(Can't even keep myself on topic, geesh) I haven't seen the movie yet but probably will soon. So... yay for this movie!
The movie is good if you walk in to it trying to find the associations "hidden" in it. That being Team America is America going around the world fighting terrorism, receiving false intelligence, destroying civilian property while fighting terrorism, the Film Actors Guild going against America but at the same time not helping the situation, and on and on and on.
<span style='color:DarkSlateGray'>This should be considered a spoiler. While watching carefuly you will see little clues or "easter eggs" within the movie. Some props are made from ordinary items at the same scale like dollar bills making palm trees, paper clips and so forth. Also pay attention to some statues and posing actors as they are real people dressed for the part and scaled for that specific shot.</span>
I can't really testify to the night life though, as that's one element I'm not into. Sorry. :P
