CO_Leren is a team effort, originally started for the co_ mapping contest. As that slowly turned into a global forum joke, we decided to continue on the map and claim the prize (seeing as the rest of the teams pulled <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->). This thread will give you guys the much needed juice regarding our project. Here are the goodies:
<u><span style='font-size:12pt;line-height:100%'><b>The Team</b> - "Team Leren"</span></u>
<b>Naigel</b> - Chief Mapper
<b>Belgarian</b> - Lighting Guru
<b>STG</b> - Mapper
<b>ShenTraX</b> - Readyroom Mapper
<b>HanzGrub3r</b> - Project Designer, Co-ordinator and Atmosphere Geek
<u><span style='font-size:12pt;line-height:100%'><b>Back Story</b></span></u>
During a routine scan of the planets beyond The Ariadne Arm, the Colethan Archeological Research Corporation?s CARC0372 Observation Satellite recorded a peculiar canyon on the unexplored planet #424. The automated satellite alerted the corporation of the potential find.
A team of four, including renowned alien archeologist Dr. Joseph Liberman, were sent to investigate the possible alien site. What they found was beyond their comprehension. In a series of cave like structure there were numerous abandoned Kharaa hives and evidence of long dead specimens. What struck Dr. Liberman most was that the Kharaa had actually begun to develop some sort of crude city that seemed to include common areas as well as obvious dwellings for each family group. The finds were astonishing. Prior to this, the picture of Kharaa was always painted with them being cruel, unintelligent monsters. If Dr. Liberman could prove that the aliens indeed showed intelligence, it may pave the way for a peaceful resolution in the war between the humans and the Kharaa. The team unpacked their equipment and awaited further instructions as to where to unload and construct the outpost.
Approximately two hours later they received co-ordinates for the location of the outpost. The co-ordinates indicated that the outpost should be above one of the cave openings. Concerned by the order, Dr Liberman contacted the corporation to confirm the requested location. Dr Liberman assumed that they were suggesting an internal ?dig site?, which was not uncommon but with evidence of Kharaa he felt that it was an unnecessary risk to have an unsecured site within the outpost. The corporation disagreed with Dr Liberman?s concerns and ordered he continue as planned.
Seismic activity in the area would suggest that shortly after the completion of the outpost an earthquake occurred. However this has not been substantiated as all contact with the team has since been lost. It is believe that one or more of the team may have been injured during the earthquake. A TSA Marine deployment in the area has been sent to rescue them..

You guys will have to wait for this when it's released. If we show this to you now then you'll know a feature which we don't want you to know for now <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

(there is a bug that needs fixing in this shot...the lights on the powersupply units are round the wrong way...for that - I am truly sorry ...lol)
Anyways, I saw two texture aligning errors in the pics which are easily noticeable. Oh, and the lights in pic 13 are emitting light but look "off", you could always make them texture lights with a low intensity value... <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
First one, an overlay clearly misaligned... <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
/me waits for trailer.
As for the errors you noticed: The one in maint. is not an error - the lights are tilted in (no texture misalignment there - you were just thrown off by the angle dude) and the other - we already knew about and I prefixed the 14th pic about the overlay being round the wrong way..
<b>Kobayashi</b>: Yeah couple of little things to fix up. The lighting actually looks brilliant in game and Naigel's brushwork is truly something beautiful to behold.
The trailer goes for about 3-4 minutes and shows off the map but also brings you in on the backstory - so if you want more info about the trailer: read the back story
<b>To everyone else that commented</b>: Thanks for the input. We'll get the trailer to you asap.
