this was actually a map started ages ago, like 2 years ago, when ns was still called nstr2... without further ado, screens!

    mm... very nice. a bit dark, but that first pic is wonderful. and some isolated lighting

    That is so beautiful... its looks so believable, yet visually its still very interesting and alot of thought has clearly went into the architecture.     It's quite <i>metally</i>. An unconventional style that is too much for my personal taste in the first picture, but with colour (à la 2nd pic) I can definitely warm to it.

    isolated lightning?

    the first pic is from the engineering bay area, so its kinda supposed to be "metally"

    By isolated he means that the lighting is not for the whole room but just inbetween the diagonal supports. I like it when you have to skip from light source to light source to navigate through an area.

    Really nice. But I think it looks a little too much like Doom 3 though. The first area looks like Delta Labs Sector 5 (I think it was that one), but with different lightning. The second looks like some other area but I can't recall the precise location. I think you should try to come up with your own ideas of areas instead, you surely have the mapping skills.

    Besides, maybe some covers like boxes or something original?

    -IF- Those areas were started when he started this map, then I think we can just call this coincidence. Or maybe both mappers have subliminally or consciously taken inspiration from the same source.

    If not it doesn't bother me personally too much, but maybe others might hae problems with it. Either way it would be far too easy to make assumptions...

    It's a dark sci-fi environment... how could it not look like doom 3? And surely thats a good thing.

    Well, I just thought those areas looked very much like some from Doom 3. I'm sorry if I was wrong in accusing you for taking too much from other's work.

    And it's not just that it's a dark sci-fi environment, the architecture in the above screen is very similar to the one in that Doom 3 section (atleast of what I can remember). The lightning of the outside environment in the second picture is also very similar to another section of Doom 3, but it's especially the building outside that contributes to this.
