some issues
Hey everyone, I've been playing ns for about 5 months now and saw some stuff that might be a good idea to atleast comment on.

1. this game is great... i will never play cstrike again ansd cant wait for an hl2 version of this game, or a game from these developers coming out in my stores.

2. the game is awesomely balanced...early on. but afterwards it gets hairy for both sides.

examples.

a. marine rush early in the game with sieges.

I think this needs to be somewhat handled.

b. marine weapons.

ok the pistol is awesome. but has a 10 round clip.. but i see why.. because u dont want to give a marine a mini hmg early in the game

shotguns are sweet, but lack the power late in the game

hmgs.. i love them.. high rof.. can take down smaller stuff, but they get a little hairy on the fades and onos, whihc is no big deal becuase we have...

the grenade launcher, great against every alien.... but its like we are missing something to complement the marine arsenal

how about a flamethrower???

i recall getting oc and dc rushed a whole lot in the last couple day on one of the reg servers i played on. it would have been great If i could have taken my flamethrower out and dowsed dmg to the oc/dc rushers, but with a grenade launcher only having 4 rounds before the reload, and the reload being a tad slow it sorta stunk.

I think a flamethrower would be a wonderful idea.

Hi mc, welcome to the forums, and thanks for your congratulations. In the future, I'd like to ask you to (a) check for an appropriate forum and (b) run searches before making a post.

Here are summaries of the general tenor to the issues you raised:

Siege encampents are, especially early on, a very high investment for the marines. They're basically an all-or-nothing gambit hoping that the aliens won't find the newly erected base before the sieges are up. If this fails, the marines will have a hard time getting back on their feet. The simple solution to the issue is for aliens to keep tabs on their hive's surroundings.

Flamethrowers are easily the most requested feature on the boards. We want to see them in, as well, but we want to see them implemented properly. Run a search on 'volumetric' to get the details.

***Locked.***
