Fix For "laggy" Fps Maps?

I can average 25-45 fps generally in NS on i'd say 1/2 of the maps, 20-35 on others and on some its just unplayable.
Using no custom skins or anything. the default models are already low poly enough, and i've got my config setup to pretty low setup of dynamic lights, polys, decals etc
kestral, ulysess and tanith are good examples. i dunno if the maps have alot of extra textures than others, more poly's than others or what but those maps are HUGELY fps intensive compared to like others. now its hardly ever a problem in CO maps, only had 1 map be that way in CO and I cant remember its name. But in NS maps like those listed above theres just something adding alot of fps hogging
anyway to tell what it is? are there by chance low texture/low poly versions of those maps that are compatible with server versions of them? need to know cause like 1 out of every 3 or 4 NS maps is just unplayable. Though Beta 5 did net me a nice 5-7 fps boost all already (on a low end system thats always a good thing), this is still there

Like Daimos, I did a fresh install just to check, it's a default map and for some reason it's INSANELY fps lagged. Some maps I get great FPS on my low end system, others it drops down to like 4 fps. It's a map issue, I know it. I'll drop down to like 2 or 4 fps and my ping skyrockets. I've tried dozens of different servers. I've got all the fancy stuff turned off, himodels, dynamic lighting, low resolution being used etc
It's unplayable There's got to be a reason why some maps are like freaking Doom 3, requiring mega video card, processing and ram to play'em. Others run perfectly smooth for what my system offers.
2. Are dynamic lights on? If so, turn em off.
3. If not, then you'll have to understand that NS is a very rescource intensive mod. It is probally the most rescource intensive mod released today for the HL engine, both client and serverside. That said, if you can run vanillia HL just fine, you might have some trouble with NS because of this.
To clarify: The FPS drops are due to RSPEEDs. There are very strict rspeed limitations for all NS maps, but if you have a low-end system, even these could effect you. The maps are very well-made.
dynamic lights are off, which is funny cause the flashlight effect is a dynamic light AFAIK and even with them turned off the flashlights still cause fps lag when they are turned on.
I know that some maps have null textures showing in the playable areas and that this can really screw over some peoples machines (not neccessarily low end ones either, sometimes its the gfx card).
The levels you quoted are all fairly large and kinda complex, the smaller, more simple levels like eclipse are easier to tailor and troubleshoot (added to the fact that it's been around for longer).
If this hasn't been raised in the beta bug forum AND you know that it effects others with similar configurations you should do so yourself. There's no excuse for sloppy mapping. It's a long and tedious process but you can't leave in niggling bugs that could cause unneccessary slowdown in some form on another player's setup.
If you have problems with the PG sprites:
Either
a) Buy a new PC. It is crap anyway if you can't play HL
b) Use blank sprites for the pg effect.
If you got an ATI card, though, problem might be elsewhere, since the HL engine seams to have some problems with some ATI cards...
