<div class="IPBDescription">Mine makes two textures mix...</div> Sorry if my title sounded a bit misleading in some way, but im wondering how you make a light texture say in a roof, NOT stick out of the surface its on, everytiem I place a brush inside a wall, the two textures 'fuse' together, so they appear odd.

see the picture.

I just want to know how you mkae a texture not stick out of a wall, but not look fused at the same time.

You don't overlap them. Man some of these questions are getting out of hand.

Build you wall around the lights. Right now they are overlapping.

Clip that wall. Just do two clips across it, then select only the center clipped out section and clip that twice again. There you've got your spot to texture. ALWAYS make sure you've got snap to grid set to ON when you're clipping. Otherwise you might end up with clips that don't quite sit on the grid, which will lead to gaps in the map and possible leaks if that's an external wall.

Really if you don't know simple things like this you should be spending more time on learning how VHE and HL maps work, and less time on making.

Kester and NetBent, give the guy a break. Bob teh Janitor offered a well-worded solution and was very helpful. I am ignorant about clipping and was glad to see his response.

Not to sound rude, but this forum is for specific NS mapping questions and problems. As it says in the Mapping Forum description - if you've got Hammer issues (or other non-NS related issues), it's best to go to VERC and ask for help there.

I thought I did make a helpful post. I took the time to make a diagram so he can see visually.
