Naruto Nintendo Ds Game

Innovation be the name of the game
Nothing much today....

Just thought I'd post this for both the anime fans and DS fans alike.

A Naruto game for the DS was revealed at the Tokyo Gameshow. Only details was a single picture.

It looks like a 2D side-scroller (Obviously), but the catch being that you can use all the Ninjitsu and Genjitsu techniques via the touch screen.
By MAKING the hand-seals yourself.

This is why I love the potential of the DS. Even a simple side scroller like this, can become something so much more entertaining. Requiring more input from the player and (Hopefully) a greater reward in fun as crap gameplay.

YAY DS!

Where is this source you speak of?

Because like I said in another forum, it reeks of photoshopping. It even uses the same sprites from the first Naruto GBA game (the sidescrolling one)

I'd smash that to pieces if it weren't the DS....

So to do the Hand Seals, you have to poke the screen with the Stylus? That's sounds like it'll really annoying really fast.

I'm agreeing with Liku on this one. It'd be repetitive....

First you take off your hand from the console, the pull out le stylus and start pressing on the seals, put away stylus, and return hand to buttons....

Repetitive. Not to mention not so user-friendly to left handed people.

I'm left handed, I'd simply twirl the stylus out of the way and use my index finger to play.

    It's fairly easy to do.

Of course, this could also very well be a turn-based RPG. If you'll notice the scroll above the characters' heads, you'll see that there's no life bar or anything that would normally characterize a sidescrolling action game. Also the big flippin' scroll seems like something out of a Mario Party minigame.

Second, the usage of the stylus isn't conducive to playing a sidescrolling game. It would be much more useful in playing something decidedly slower-paced.

And third, I have no third.

But here's to hoping Infinitum is right.

How can they not make a traditional fighting game out of Naruto?

...oh wait, I forgot. They can't because nobody ever kills anyone else - they just threaten them melodramatially for six episodes.

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with him on that one. Sourceage?

Calling photoshop on this. The unit itself is low quality and heavilly artifacted, but the game screen is very crisp. The colors themselves are far too vibrant for a picture of a game playing.

Y'know guys, this isn't the first time anyone's just photoshopped an image onto a screen to display it, it happens a lot, mainly due to the fact that if it were a photo, the image quality of the screens, etc, wouldn't be up to par.

Sure it may be photoshopped for display purposes, but that doesn't mean that the concept etc isn't entirely real.

For people who are overly analysing a photo, you seemed to miss the watermark

Yes, it's probably a mockup.... christ people over-analyse everything these days.

Personally, I'm a bit fed up with the overrating Naruto's received recently.
It's been filtering into my local area... hell, one of my friends had started to wear the dippy headband, until I took it away and burned it.

(Disclaimer: The poster has never got as much as in brief contact with Naruto and will thus be forced to judge the game idea on its own merits.)

I can actually see this working as a sidescroller. Let them adopt the traditional 'Street Fighter' digipad scheme (walk with left and right, jump with up, duck with down, block by triggering back at the right moment), ignore the two buttons, and let the player keep the stylus in his right hand at all time. Might work, and be actually quite cool.

Nem, check the link in my previous post for a parody on the fans who take it WAY too far. Also should give you a rough idea about the series, which should give you a bit of an idea about the game.
