Dear NSF moderation team,
It has been roughly 3 months since the <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1412' target='_blank'>Post Your Pic</a> thread has been closed. I believe that it should be reopened, and maybe cleaned. Origionally I intended to PM Nem0 and request such, but then I thought "what is 1 PM in a forum of 30,000 going to do" so if you believe that it's about time to reopen the post your pic thread, please voice your oppinion hear. On the flip side of the coin if you think it should stay closed, why not air your argument as well?

    i sent a pm to marik i believe it was saying my thoughts on how it should be open because there is no place on this forum, even in the off topic, to be completely off topic. PYC was that place. now its gone. i want it back.

    I already asked Marik in a PM if he'd re-open it, he said that it'd take aprroximately 3 years to clean.

    Though I'm sure he was exaggerating, it still gets a big D:

    EDIT: A.k.a. I don't think they're too ecstatic about the idea. Maybe we could just start Post Your Pics Part II: The Liandri Conflict or something.

    I'm more than willing to re-open it, but only after it gets its cleaning like last time we temporarily closed it. I don't know who on the mod staff is willing, and although I can think of a way to have a willing regular member have temporary mod priviledges for that thread alone, I'm not in a position to approve him or her--that'd be Nem's territory.

    If you think you can convince him you have the willingness to clean it, the time to do so, and the trustworthiness to not change other people's posts in it while you have such privileges access within it, then PM him and try to convince him you're up to the job.

    [edit]I'm already in the process of setting things up so somebody can comb through it, I'm just not going to promote anyone without Nem's approval.

    And with a few people working at it, deleting all the non-picture posts [and the broken links], there wouldn't be too big a chance to make much mischief.

    Marik, instead of cleaning it, how about a new one be started? It would remove the task of cleaning, and get us our sacrid PYP back.

    Just a suggestion though.     Marik said he was setting things up so that people could clean the thread, but he wasn't going to do anything without Nem's permission. I.e actually give people the power to clean it in that forum.

    Yep, Thansal already got a clue of what I was saying when I said I was "setting things up." Like I said, I still don't have a choice over who would get promoted--if anyone, I must emphasize--but I've set up the structure should Nem0 decide to take advantage of it.

    Not my decision whether to do so or not, but if you're asking whether it's physically possible using the forum's permission masks settings and control panel, the answer is "I think so."

    As I am rather sure you could do it much in the same way you set up the user group "post Your Pic threadcleaner", just make the subforum visable, and make it modded by admins, mods, and post your pic mods (or a better more amusing tital as yalls see fit)
