<div class="IPBDescription">I am in a LAN......</div> Ok, i am in a LAN that is connected to the internet. When I host an internet server noone online can see it. I can see/join it but I am also on the same lan as the server (actually same machine). My theory is that since the DHCP is giving me a local address as my IP address so when I host a LAN or internet game it is always on 144.XXX...... Anyone have any ideas on how to get around this?

This is specific to lil home routers but the theory is identical..
In order for Internet players to connect to your Server, you must enable your Server to be an Internet Server. You do this by entering "sv_lan 0" in the Server console, in the server.cfg or in the listenserver.cfg file.
Typically, only Listenservers (where the Server is also a Client) are LAN Servers by default.
If you are behind the same router as the Server, then you must connect to the your Server using the internal IP address of the Server and and not the external IP address.
