Do I need some special software? And which folder would I need to put them in?

Is there also a limit in size?

    or you can do this

Step 1. Create a "mp3" folder in your ns folder which is located here
    C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\your email\half-life\ns(usual location)

Step 2. Put all your mp3 files you want to hear in this folder and rename 1,2,3 etc

Step 3. Open your config.cfg file with Notepad and add the lines
bind "F1" "mp3 play mp3/1.mp3" for every song. Of course F1 could be any key that you want it to be

Step 4. When in game press F1 and your song plays

If you want a ton of songs then <a href='http://dynamic4.gamespy.com/~counter-script/' target='_blank'>http://dynamic4.gamespy.com/~counter-script/</a> has a couple scripts that do so
