<div class="IPBDescription">Strategicly Speaking.</div> The most powerfull alien weapon is its ability to be bait, and lead marines into an ambush.
Meaning. Parasight before running in. If you see one marine, Parasight untill he eather dies or you have at least +1 more aliens over the amount of marines chasing you.

You would be surprised how easy this works on pubs at least. Try and lead marines to where you want them to go.

Also, parasighting 3 marines, then hiding in a vent spamming chuckle and other sounds does amazing things. anywhere where they will just stay there waiting to kill you, or back off. but what this does is STALL THEM.
Remember Aliens All you are doing most of the time, espicaly in the begining is defending untill you get a 2nd hive up. cause once that 2nd hive goes up. You pretty much get a 200-500% boost in killing power.

and again, if you are the only one in an area, try and hide, or run away, get back up. The aliens other advantage is speed. so they can respond to threats a little more quickly, thus making them more defensive.

Think of skulks like wolves, Skulks are way more effective in a pack. Now that doesn't mean you have 8 skulks rush down a long hall way agaisnt 2 marines. you will all prob die. now if you have 5 skulks ambush 6 marines, Youll prably kill em all.

    Chuckle is an offensive weapon. It covers the footstep sounds of your buddies, and it distracts the marines. Wonderful.

    But don't go too nuts with the parasites. Tag most of the marines, and then go heal or get into a good ambush spot. Skulks do not have the durability to delay the marines that way, so there are better things for you to do with yourself.

    Yeah, try to parasite whoever you can the first time, but don't stick your head out of the vent again for a second try unless you want it to be detatched at the neck with bullets.

    What I like doing is parasiting a lone marine at a spot he's obviously going to go to that I'm already at. And he'll camp that place for a while, and then slowly make his way to where I am.

    Then I just jump out and kill him.

    NS can be full of psychological warfare sometimes...

    Getting Regen can realy help as a skulk for parasight missions. and of course any movement chamber can help too. I like adren.

    yep silence for 95% of the time and and celerity when you are feeling up to it.

    celerity and carapace (plus leap, which you would have by then) works wonders.

    oh, you can also get the marine team to follow you as a fade by just harasing them at their main base.

    people been complaining about aliens being unbalanced. I also notice alot of aliens not baiting enough. 1+1=2. Give them somethign they can use for thier advantage, and to see what anyone else says about baiting and any other good methods.

    Then the marines would have no chance (leap rocks), and the skulks would have a relatively cruddy slot 3 weapon.

    The main point of this thread is to delay marines. As in stall them from going to cap RT's or destroy yours. Make them scared and just sit there while they wait for you to charge them. >_>

    yeah the best thing a 1 hive skulk can do is waste 3~5 marines time by hiding in vent and **** them off, by site/chuckle so they camp the vent. I go lerk usually to continue my pestering(regen lerk in vents is guuuud you can take a few pistol shots and u can just back outa site and heal up then continue to harass, you can easily stay lerk all game, start as a harasser and end up as umbra/primal support, do miss spikes tho but if ur team lets the rines get a HA train before most ur team are fades then you should loose). With spore you can aim pretty much anywhere from a vent and drag the attention of the rines, if u get the commander to give out med packs and welders then thats even groovier as ur wasting their resources. People complain about skulks not being able to kill rines 1v1, problem is killing the marines isnt the objective, stalling them intill you can all go fade/onos and keep their teching slow by haltering their expansion is your goal. This is a rts not a fragmatch.

    Time > kills, this is also why OC's are great, slap an odd oc or 2 in areas, watch a rambo rine waste 3~5mins poking his head outa wall and firing intill it dies and waste all his ammo. Cost to waste of rine time is great for oc's. I know most people want them cheaper or stronger, but i wouldnt want oc's spammed everywhere like nub commanders do with turrets.

    about the hallway thing. youve obviously never tried to relocate to the long hallway below horse-shoe and come around the corner and see 5 skulks bounding towards you. good laugh that was. raped.

    yeah, i think that kharaa = rine munchers, but 1 rine has easy time to munch a skulk. Too many nubs who LMG all the time... really, BRING OUT DA PISTOL!!!

    Silence is the key, especially with cloak. Take a bite, run away, then come back cloaked. It usaually causes the rines to spam all there ammo in a circular motion, and when they run dry, use em to floss ya teath.

    Adren is also great with leap. To my surprise, my pants gained a couple of extra gramms when i saw a skulk leap from the ground, to the roof, to a wall next to me, then into my face in a 5second motion, then he started chomping my feet. This is a crazy move that i am still trying to master.

    Start a new server, with just you and bots. Get a 2nd hive, then try out your triple leap chomp attack on your hapless rine bots..

    I always used to sit in a vent opposite a switch, para the switch, then when the rines go toward it I chuckle from the other side.

    Some rines think they're surrounded and waste a few bullets with paranoia. They usually scream for backup/ammo/meds and that annoys his mates as well as his comm. If you're REALLY lucky he's a complete idiot and is spamming furiously, which is a really good time to viciously exploit the frantic garbled teamsaying and RUSH the rine base.



    Sitting beside ladders and using para with cloak is always good too... especially at L3 when you can be cloaked before the marine even looks around to see what hit him.

    Parasite is free. SOF costs 2 res, plus it means you have sensory chambers (not common), plus it means you aren't getting focus or cloaking from the chamber.

    Sof in classic is always my favorite anyway, cloaking is lame and requires just about no skill and focus makes you less effective over time.

    But parasiting the most marines one can is really good, rarely I die to marine thats not parasited at least. 2 para +3 bites kills lvl 3 armored marine, thats what I think...maybe its level 2.

    yep it's lvl2, taking in account they don't have resupply/receive a med pack.
