To Change Our Continium On Earth

<div class="IPBDescription">choose either Kharaa or TSA tech</div> Originally I was going to put this in off topic but then I realized how good some of the stories that could be made with this. The only problem is I don't have any real good plots that come instantly to mind so I would like to make this an open contest.
I and any of the Forum Moderators who wish to particiapte will judge the stories. Remember to use all of the scientific data and existing fan fictions you have available, if you have any specific scientific questions about how something in NS works PM me and I'll get back to you ASAP.
1. Have you ever felt after watching some crime or seeing someone being torutured that you could just get some of those amazing powers you see in the movies and games and pwn the bad guys? This contest is dedicated to that feeling of wanting to save when you are helpless to do so and know that if you just have this one piece of technology you could save the day. So try figure out that feeling.
So in that way it is very serious but I don't like to put a cap on creativity. It could also be a frankenstein (or prime directive reiterating) type of story where even the best intentions and precatutions are inevitably disasterous. Or could make it a commedy like what if this fade came to our continium on earth and became kinda liek a crocodile dundee or back to the future type of thing. Funny like the fade start getting into all the "bad boy" things like getting a pimped out car and a bling bling around his neck. Or it can be a distopian view of the future, kinda like terminator where the Heavy is trying to stop the future.
2. If you remember from litterature history. Some of the best scary stories from the previous turn of the century came form a contest:

Now of course we aren't making supernatural stories, but rather more realisitic with basis on the facts of this world and the NS world.
Example of heroism plot:
Terrorists are toturing their hostages and evily living off the fun of their fear and pain when skulks come in and kick there arses.
Rules: <span style='color:red'>no time travel</span>; don't explain where the technology came from, just start telling the story thinking, "If I had this marine/alien technology from NS" Time is not quantified in nature and is what is known as a abstract perception of change. So technically speaking there isn't such a thing as time and thus why going "back in time" is a stupid impossibility. You can however "shift" to a parallel universe in theory to go back in time... but no time travel. (see even I started falling into talking about it) For that matter also scrub anything supernatural.
<span style='color:red'>Only NS things in our present continium on Earth.</span> Don't take things from other films or games, of course if you had a fade just playing Halo2 or something that'd be different. I mean like don't say I have HMG and Zerg shows up and then Inuyasha kills it and then Predator comes and kills us all and the then big text letter appear in the sky and say Doom3. Ok? <span style='color:yellow'>Just what ever <i>NS</i> thing you choose and <i>Earth.</i></span>
<span style='color:red'>Only choose one of the following: Kharaa or Frontiersmen.</span> For that matter try choose one or a few things. For instance like a story of having a skulk as a pet. Or if I had a phasegate to get to school and work instantly. You might find yourself writing an epic novel is you try to take a whole bunch of things.
Outside of that. Knock yourselves out and we will all be bedazzled by you creations. Make us cry, makes us laugh, make us get angry and rejoice when the NS thing saves the day. I've already thown out many ideas seeds people can expand on tremendously in this post. I will be waiting anxiously to read and love the creations you make in response to this challenge.

I'm spending my spare time playing, occasionally working on my current story, Brobdingnagian, and for me it's too hard to just suddenly whip something out of nowhere and enter it. I do wish you luck but i'm sure there are many others out there like me who need a specific target to aim at, also what are you going to do about time limits and the like? I mean when do the stories have to be finished by, if you want a winner, you need a deadline.
I hope it works out, but it may be a touch complicated.
Hopefully by the end of the story the tension, isolation and mystery will all have heightened in the reader's mind, setting them up to play my map (wip) in a more submersed frame of mind.
EDIT: Invalid entry. Pity the contest is so limiting or you would have many more entries, I don't really like the anachronous subject matter so I doubt I'd be able to submit anything worthwhile.
2ndEDIT: There are no valid entries to this competition at all. Can't help but feel that taking NS out of it's unique scifi environment and trying to tell it's story on Earth is what has put so many people off submitting entries.
You are to pick one element of the NS universe and use it in a story set in our time, if I'm following correctly.
Here for brainstorming just flip on the news. Say maybe you see some terrorist group torturing some hostages and you just wish that if you had this one NS technology or if you were a skulk or something how you could own them and be the hero.
Or you could just do comedy. I thought one funny thing would be to do a rendition of Undercover Brother with a fade, even theough the movie is too much stupid comedy for me to stand, with a fade it would be laugh out loud hilarity.

I'm sure I could write a story about "imagine if Superman wasn't a humanoid he was a Skulk <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo--> " but I wouldn't be writing in something I really had my heart in, or which suited my style of writing. So to reiterate it's just my personal opinion.

It really isn't hard and is rather fun, take any of the unfinished ideas I mentioned above. I can't make it any easier. Judges can't participate. Take something that pisses you off and you feel helpless to do anything about it with and write.
