Ati Video Capture Problems

<div class="IPBDescription">OT = Tech Support, right?</div> Well I have a problem that quite frankly baffles me. I've got this nice little media PC. 2.8GHz P4 with HT, 512MB PC2700 DDR RAM, ATI All in Wonder 9600 Pro and a nice beefy 250GB hard drive. I record TV onto it, like one might expect. It worked fine until yesterday. Now, it records a random number of minutes, and then just cuts out. No error, and the little recording dialog is still active. It says its still recording, but it isn't. This happens randomly, about 50% of the time. I've toyed with formats for reoording, tried MPEG2, MPEG4 (ATI's proprietary codec, not XVid or DivX) and raw AVI. Happens for all of them (well I can't test very well with raw AVI, since the filesize is ungodly huge). I've tried enabling caching on the HDD, disabling it, everything. I use Catalyst 4.9's and Multimedia Center 9.02. I can't for the LIFE of me think of what could be causing this, since the hard disk is DEFINATELY not low on space (the partition that is recorded to has 175GB free at the moment). Any ideas?

What software are you doing the recording with and have you got the latest patch for it?

I use ATI's multimedia center, and yeah, I have the most recent one.

Edit: I'm trying old versions of the drivers ATM... maybe one of them will work. If not, I'll start trying old versions of the multimedia software too :S

Oh, and this is officially the best way EVAR to browse the forums. (56 inches of flat-screen hi-res goodness)
